Fantasmic Dinner Package questions

Hi. I was on allearsnet.com and from what I can tell the Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine appears to be the same cost as the buffet without the package. I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Also, can I use my Disney Dining Experience card to get the 20% off of the Fantasmic package?

Lastly, we are going in late October. Do you think we really need a package like this or can we get seats 30 mins before the show?

Skip the package, the seats are off to the side and less than desirable. the buffet at H&V is very good. In October, 30 minutes will be fine, 45 would be great. Enjoy. Fantasmic (fantasmagoric as I call it) is the best show on Disney property. That and Nemo. Oh, and Festival of the Lion King. So, its Fantasmagoric, Nemo, FOTLK...And Beauty and the Beast. So its...well you get the picture.

BTW, I used to live in Durango (duh), but before that I lived in Parker. Now, I'm a long way from home.

I have never seen Fantasmic at WDW, though we caught it once at DL about 10 years ago.

I have to agree with you on Nemo. We saw that last Jan. right when it opened, and I was absolutely awestruck!

Disney's the Little Mermaid is doing a pre Broadway opening here in Denver, and I can't wait. I imagine they may use a lot of the same techniques as they did in Nemo to create the feeling of swimming. I'm so impressed with Disney's stage work....but I really got OT here, didn't I?

We did the Fantasmic dinner package our first year at Disney and we were pretty unimpressed with the seats.
The past two years we head into the ampitheatre about 30-45 minutes prior to the show and have great seats. Oh-we go in October.
