My plan is to see Fantasmic at 7:00 on Saturday, 11-22. What do you think about the crowds? Do you think I need a dinner reservation to get a seat without waiting an hour?

I'm sorry I can't answer your question about that specific time frame... we did a pkg. in early Feb. and clearly did not need it during that slower time.

I'm wondering if I will need one the week AFTER Pres. day week? Not too thrilled with the big priced menu for the pkg.

Hopefully someone can answer both our questions!:D

I had never done the dinner package for Fantasmic before and really had no problems, or so I thought :-)

This year we splurged with dinner at the Brown Derby. The dinner was wonderful, but the Fantasmic seating was even better.

The fact that you get to enter and leave the theater area by a separate entrance is worth the cost alone. If you have been before you know what an insane crush it is to get out of there. It is so crowded it is difficult to find a spot to sit and wait until the crowds disperse the way you can in EPCOT.

Being able to just slip out a side entrance makes the entire evening that much more pleasant. I would do it again in a flash.

We've done the package twice in the summer, and never got to slip out the side entrance! I haven't seen it open, maybe we just didn't look for it?

georgina,

Did you go in by a separate entrance, the one at Oscar's garage? We entered and exited that way.

We have done the package dinner twice. Both times we entered through Oscar's and exited through the main exit with everyone else. I don't know how they tell you had the dinner package when everyone leaves at the same time. The dinner package seating opens up to general admission right before show time.

The dinner package section was completely filled long before show time the night I was there.

But that was because so many people were sneaking in. They seemed to be short of CMs because there was no one down at the front to keep people out. Guests would try to enter at the back and be told it was reserved seating, so they would go down to the front and slip under the rope. I watched dozens and dozens of people do this, kids in tow, teaching them such an invaluable lesson about rules and how to break them.

It got completely out of hand. When the CM tried to go down to the front to stop people there was a mad rush at the back.

I knew about leaving via the Oscar route because I had read about it in Tourguide Mike. I asked the CM when I came in, just to confirm, and was told yes, that was the way we were supposed to exit.

Mind you, they did not let use that route all the way to Oscar's when exiting. Oh no, they had to reroute us just before Oscar's to the street from TOT so we could walk past all the lovely shops on our way out. But we were still far enough ahead of the crowd to make me happy.
