We have a 5:30pm res for Brown Derby for the 8:30pm show. They have added a second at 10:30pm and would much rather go to the later show. I can not seem to get a later Package dinner res. Do they have them for the 10:30 show? We will be at DHS 4/9 and I am wondering if I cancel the res and just do standby. How busy do you think it will be? Will I have to get there a hour early?

Thanks

Fantasmic Dinner package vouchers are only for the first Fantasmic.

It's less crowded at the 2nd show and even a FP isn't necessary. If the first show is at 8:30, the 2nd show is at 10:00. You will want to double check the Fantasmic schedule for 4/9/15.

You can very, very likely get a same-day FP+ for Fantasmic! as your 4th or 5th FP+ of the day.
(They issue THOUSANDS of them.)

What that FP+ will do for you is to allow you to have access to much more of the theater.
(That way you could choose to either sit in the FP+ section, OR in the Standby (Walk-up) section, whichever offers the better seats at the
time of your arrival.)
As to when to arrive, I'd get to the theater 45-60 minutes before the show-time.

Map Below-
Arrows indicate the center of the seating.

Shaded areas:
(First or Only F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red= Dining Plan Reserved
Blue= FP+ Reserved
Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Plan Reserved, depending on needs

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red, Purple= FP+ Reserved
Most of Blue will likely be used for Standby.)

Thank you so much for the information and map. We will be at Epcot for the day and were going to go in the evening for Fantasmic. I don't like to feel rushed that we need to get to DHS.

You will need to enter DHS before the park closes. And if you plan on the 2nd show, arrive 20-30 minutes before it begins. CMs are still cleaning the amphitheater before the 2nd show up until that time.

Thank you, I think I'm going to cancel and wing it. I hate to be charged for the package for 4 adults when two are really kids that eat like a bird.
It is the 4th time we have brought the kids since 2005 and we have never seen WDW Fantasmic.

We've attended Fantasmic many times, always viewing the late show. We found that strolling into the theater 10 minutes or so before showtime is early enough to get good seats. It's been several years since I've seen the amphitheater much more than half full for the late show. Generally, the entire outer sections are closed off.

An added bonus is that the vast majority of guest attend the early show, meaning that attraction lines can get very short during the time leading up to and through the 1st performance.

Enjoy the show.
