I booked a Fantasmic Dining Package for my family in September but now I'm not sure how it will work since my DD will use a wheelchair while we are at WDW. I understand the wheelchair seating is at the top of the theater and I believe the reserved section would be lower. I've never seen the show at WDW only at Disneyland so my question is are there stairs going down or is it ramped? Will we still be able to use the reserved seats that come with the package? If anyone has any information on this I sure would appreciate if you would share it. Thanks.

The reserved section is a part of the of the theater from top to bottom, so it does include the wheelchair seating in that section. The wheelchair seating includes some empty spaces in the top row with a seat for a companion to sit next to the wheelchair. Seating for the rest of your party would be in the 2 rows in front of the wheelchair.

As you face the stage, standing at the top of the theater, the far right area has a ramp all the way down to the stage/water area. It is possible to drive a wheelchair all the way from the top row to the bottom row at that area. In the other areas, there are stairs that go from the top to the bottom.

Thank you so much for the information!:flower3: I feel better now about reserving the Fantasmic Dining Package.

We did fantasmic last year with my grandmother who is in a wheelchair and there were 10 of us and they sat us all together. They will not separate you, we had a great time. all the CM's were great. Go and enjoy :goodvibes

Thanks for taking the time to respond and telling me of your experience, I appreciate it. :)

Please be aware that the separate entrance for those doing the dining package has been eliminated and you enter thru the general entrance. Using any kind of ECV allows you to sit in the same reserved area.

other than spending some extra money you will gain exactly nothing.

Just for clarification, the person with the wheelchair or ECV will be in the back row, with space for one person to sit next to them.
The rest of your party will be in the rows directly in front of the wheelchair. This is a picture of the wheelchair seating area. The blue outlined areas are wheelchair/ECV parking areas. The rows in front marked with a wheelchair symbol are for the rest of your party and/or for people with special needs who do not have wheelchairs.

Many people don't get the dinner packages if they have a wheelchair or ECV for that reason.
I am not sure if or when they might re-instate the separate entrance for the Fantasmic dining package. When we were at WDW in March, there was construction in the shops on that side of the street. I don't know if that is why the separate entrance is not being used or not, but it will be interesting to see whether they start using the entrance again when the construction is done.

Thanks again for your replies. I think we will just go ahead and keep the Fantasmic Package even though it may not be an advantage since DD will use a wheelchair. We want to eat at the Brown Derby anyway and now it is not a fixed price (you order off the menu) and we don't have the Dining Plan so we won't be out anything.

My Son uses a wheelchair and elctric scooter. We had seating in the front row last year when we went. There is path they take you around. It was the perfect location!

Thanks for posting. :flower3: I'm sure we will enjoy Fantasmic! When you sat in the front row did you get wet?

No, we didn't get wet. Every now and again we got a little mist...We had cameras and video recorder and the fine mist did nothing to hurt them. We had jackets on because it was December and a little cooler at night and our jackets were not wet after the show...

Enjoy it. I hope your daughter does too!

Thanks Charleyann! When you went last year did they still have the separate entrance for the Fantasmic Dining Package?

I know Kellie will love Fantasmic at WDW, she loves it at Disneyland. We used to live in Anaheim and she's seen the show there many times. Kellie has Down Syndrome and her enthusiasim for life and Disney shows everyday. The first question she usually asks someone she meets is "Have you been to Disneyland?" (Disney World's okay too) and the second is "What is your favorite ride?" She's very excited if someone has been to Disneyland or Disney World. She's definitely looking forward to Fantasmic!
