It's hard to keep track of which of thse is the current best. I think Mama melrose used to offer a limited menu but I think it's back to the regular menu--anyone know for sure? This would be a plus in favor of Mama Melrose. But reviews lately seem mixed at best about the food quality here. And I think lately the Hollywood and Vine reviews have been fairly good. (Anyone with recent experience at either place please weigh in here!) The final consideration might be time. With having to be at Fantasmic at least 30 minutes before the show, having a lsow waiter at Mama Melrose would be a big negative.

So which would you choose?

We enjoyed H&V in March 07. We have not been to Mama Melrose's in a few years because we had been disappointed. Maybe that has changed.....

we went to Hollywood & Vine for the package in 2004, not impressed at all witht the food and we'll be trying Mama Melroses for the first time in about 3 weeks but just for a reg. dinner. Nice thing about package is not having to be seated 2 hours early, good luck.

I have done both. We found all of the food at Mama Melrose's to be quite disgusting!!!

We have done Mama Melrose the last two years...normal menu, average to a little above average food--depending on what you order. We did not like Hollywood & Vine at all...the service was awful, they took forever to replenish food and the place was very dirty...especially the bathrooms.

We like H&V because of their location (close to the "backdoor" to Fantasmic) and the variety of food for our family:goodvibes

Definitely Mama's. We at at both in March of this year and found H&V to be dirty, the staff was not very Disney-like and the food was not very good. We like the atmosphere at Mama's better because its more like a nice restaurant. You sit down and they come take your order. When I am hot and tired, the last thing I want to do is have to get up and go through a buffet where other people have handled the food, it might not be hot or fresh and then wind my way back through other people, strollers, tables, etc. to sit down and eat. JMHO

We haven't tried H & V, but we did try Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package in September. Never again. We had to eat way too early (last seating for the package was at 5:20 PM) and the food was very poorly prepared. Some of it wasn't even fresh.
The service was dismal. We had a terrible time getting drink refills and our server was way too full of himself.

Hmm, perhaps I should have added a "neither" option to my poll . . . The problem is that we will be at Disney during a very busy time and would probably have to show up at least an hour early to the first show to get a seat. There is a second show, which I think will be much less crowded, but I'm not sure about staying in the park that late since we will be arriving early in the morning and have another early morning planned the next day.

Decisions, decisions . . .
