Fantasmic dining lunch—Mama Melrose or Prime Time?

I have the Fantasmic dining package lunch booked for both right now and need to drop one. I’ve been to 50s Prime Time once and it was great—however, this trip we’re also doing Hoop Dee Doo Revue and Liberty Tavern so I thought 50s Prime time might be comfort food overkill. Or maybe not? What should I stick with of the two? Fam of 4, two boys, 7 and 9. We live in Manhattan so we do have access to a lot of good Italian. I can’t quite tell how good Mama Melrose’s is—reviews seem to be all over the place!

Oh, I do have a dining alert for Fantasmic Sci-Fi but not counting on it (and also not sure if that’s any better food-wise than Mama Melrose’s).

Would your kids have fun with the "antics" at 50's Prime Time? DS11 was watching a review that mentioned them--elbows off the table, being told to eat your veggies, etc. and told me he did not want to go there. If your kids are cool with the antics, I would choose whichever had the most go-to items for your kids to eat no matter how stimulated they are.

Of the three, we prefer Sci-Fi, so definitely consider it if it pops up. I think the food is equally mediocre at both 50's and Mama, so perhaps go with Mama Melrose if you think 50's might be comfort food overkill.

Good to know! Is the sci fi food actually better in your opinion? I remember liking the 50s food and the margarita was very good. But i don’t get comfort food that often. Definitely hoping for sci fi bc I know my boys would at least enjoy the atmosphere but it seems impossible!

I have taken to booking the F! package at Mama Melrose so I can have steak. But I had dinner at PTC during my January visit and the food was good. I like SciFi, too, but I feel like the other 2 are a better deal for the package.

We do not care for Sci Fi and have never been to MM but love 50’s PTC.

I prefer Brown Derby BUT between 50's and Mama, I would definetly go w/ 50's. I thought Mama Melrose was terrible. A step below Olive Garden.

DW and I have been to MM 3-4 times and thought it was very good each time... we also like 50s PT so either would be good with us.

Sci-Fi is fine. I would choose that over Melrose. Sci-Fi is mostly burgers.....they have a salad on the menu but find the menu to be lacking. I wish Brown Derby wasn't so expensive, I usually order the Cobb salad (a nice reprieve from the heavier food options)....but for the $73 price tag it's not worth it.
