Fantasmic Dessert?

I seen the goodie box,but is that all you get? the one In WDW has a actual Buffet:confused3

Yes, the goodie box and you can ask for several drinks - I usually get coke and a hot chocolate. That box may not look like much, but we ate leftovers for several days.

It used to be a dessert buffet at DL, as well. At that time the show was viewed from the balcony overlooking the riverfront. Now that it is down by the riverfront, it is the dessert box.

We did this as a special occasion last Oct - Was it worth the money??? Well I was VERY VERY upset after reading the posts that I paid and still had to wait - so basically yes you have to get there and make sure you are the first one or two in line - then you wait and wait for them to open up reservations so that you can get seat assigned and then leave for maybe a 1/2 hr to come back and get your seat.

They should assign seats when you purchase the tickets! Especially for the money you spend, its suppose to keep you from waiting in my opinion.

So would I do it again - hmm - I didnt get to spend 2-3 hours with my family, by the time the show was getting ready to start our little one fell asleep so it was just my MIL and I, but they did let my DH take the dessert box back to the hotel even though he didnt stay for show.

So if we were going with enough family to switch off that would be nice option.

It was also so close to halloween that family couldnt do much lines were to long for rides - so we might have just been better off saving the $$ and playing picnic...

I think well do it at WDW and skip DL for a couple of year.

Food was good!
;)

In spirit with this thread on reserved seating there have been strong rumors of reserved seating for those at the GC Villas (like Jack :)) and those who book a dining package thru Ariel's Grotto.

That would be nice, we just have to wait and see.

Jack

OH my I love that rumor, we are DVC VGC members and Ariels is a must for us with a 3 yr old girl - of course it seems like it would be a dining reservation for the color my world thing since its in the same park?

Thanks for the info...

This whole waiting in line to wait in line has me rethinking even attempting to book this.

May 28 will be our last night at DL and I really thought it would be a fun way to end the evening and our stay. Of course May 28 is the first night they are showing F! again so I know it's going to be nearly impossible to even get the reservation in the first place.

Right now we have a PS time of 5:30 at Steakhouse 55.

What do you experts suggest? Should I try and get a PS time for Blue Bayou instead? That way we are in the park. Of course that is assuming I can book the package in the first place. Hmm. :confused3 I should mention there are 6 of us. My DH is more than willing and able to go wait in line and check us in but is he going to have to miss dinner to do so?

I'm kind of thinking out loud right now but would love some advice. Thanks!

Kristen

We did the dessert seating the week prior to your dates last year, on a Thursday night. The line started by the churro cart before the podium arrived at 5:50pm for a 8pm check in.
Be sure to have someone in your group arrive early for best seats; seats are assigned first come first served.
It was crazy busy, once you are in NOS area, don't leave.
It is too hard to navigate the crowds. Go ride HM or sit and people watch. CMs will be out doing crowd control and it can be hard to get to your assigned area.
If you have the early show you can get seated by 8:30 and start enjoying the seat, goody box and drinks.
You are also allowed to stay for the fireworks :thumbsup2
IMO the first show is worth the $ because you get to stay seated for the fireworks and they will still serve you drinks :wizard:
another option fo picking up your tickets is Guest Services located outside the park to the left of the entrance. Not much of a line there compared to city hall :)
and like everyone else said be sure to call at 30 days at 8 am sharp! :goodvibes

I just want to make sure I get this right. What I think you are saying is that the line formed before 5:50pm, but they didn't start checking anyone it until 8pm for a 9pm show.

So, this means that one member of your party can stand in line (if they're willing) for the two hours or more, and then have the rest of the party show up around 8pm. You check in at 8pm and then get seated at 8:30pm.

Do you pick your seats at 8pm when you check in, or are you seated in the order you check in and get to pick your seats when you get seated at 8:30? Hope that makes sense.

You choose your seats at 8pm at the podium.
Both showtimes are lined up
for seat assignments at the same time. When we went they asked who was 9pm showtime and took them first regardless of where they were in line.
But it is still first in line gets first pick of the seats :)

The line starts by the churro cart, Later they wheel out a podium and place it next to the pillar that is by the churro cart. I think this was around 7pm.
Only one person in your party needs to stay in that line.
At 8pm they start assigning seats. They pull out a seating chart and will help
you choose which area will be best for your party. We had 4 people and were dead center front row.
So after you get your seat assignments it's best to hang around that area. They will allow you to be seated at 8:30
HTH :)

question, since you pick where you sit does that mean a party at the back may not sit together? Like if e everyone picks seats how they do at a movie theater? Lol if that makes sense.

The Resort's restaurant department is planning on offering dining packages that guarantee you a space to stand if you spend a certain dollar amount at a Resort restaurant, and the Ariel's Grotto restaurant will also offer expensive dining packages with a view from their waterside deck. But most of the space in the amphitheater will be reserved for Showpass ticket holders only.

Do they have handicapped accessible seating, do they just take out a chair for the scooter?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that, but I want to add a warning there:
Make sure you make them aware that you can't transfer from your scooter when you check in.

The viewing area in the middle does have stairs and is not accessible when you can't transfer - at least it was not when we went in November. I had to go back to the viewing area near Haunted Mansion then. They made me park the scooter there and then a CM escorted us to our seats. I was on crutches and could transfer, but squeezing through the already seated people was not pretty.

Thanks for the clue, don't know if we would actually do it especially once I show my DP the picture of the dessert box and what you get for the price. Because you with your crutches are probably 100% more mobile than she is on a regular basis with her canes and I don't even need to see you. People are constantly asking us if they can help becuase she is so handicapped. I feel bad when I sit there not helping her, but becuase I am with her on a daily basis, I know that she considers standing up on her own an accomplishment, so until she asks for help, I just need to stand there looking stupid.

Living with a disabled person is difficult, but what do you do when the person you love becomes afflicted? You just learn to deal.

That's why I thought I need to say something. I knew I was off a lot better than others who have to use a scooter all the time, and I still had difficulties. I had broken my foot a couple of weeks before our trip, the cast only came off shortly before we left.

I know that feeling you have. My friends were all over me trying to help until I told them "I'll let you know if I need you, okay?" The looks some people gave us... *sighs*

I guess If I was not going to WDW,maybe i would consider It:confused3 jus 60.00 for a box of cookies I dont know?. At WDW Its half that cost and there Is no,jocking for a spot In line and there Is a lot more of a choice as far as the desserts go and get to see tghe fire work show to boot. I guess we will just stand and watch maybe get some treats else where.

Never been to WDW but I understand the show is a bit different. Depending on when you are going, good luck with the crowds and enjoy the show.

Technically, you are paying for the chair and the dessert box andd drinks are complimentary.

As for the fireworks, if you watch the first Fantasmic! show, you can stay in your seat and enjoy the fireworks if you want.

I'd like to know the answer to that one too. I could care less if we are on the front row- In fact, DD might prefer not to be on the front row. All I want is a spot that I don't have to fight the main crowd for and a chair. Anywhere in the reserved seating section is fine with me, although I would prefer to sit with DH and DD.

Also, I know this is probably a dumb question, but is the 8:00 a.m. call in Pacific time? (I'm used to the WDW reservations being on Eastern time).
