I knew where the podium was going to be because I've done this before, however, there is a popcorn cart there, and those cast members must be asked where the check-in is going to be several times a day, so they know, and are very helpful. If you don't care about getting front row, and just want a nice area to sit down & have your dessert while you watch the show, you don't really need to wait that long. When I am with others, I feel "responsible" for making sure we get good seats, so I go a little overboard (depending on how enthusiastic the others are). I was w/the owner of this site, so I really wanted him to have a good seat.
When you check in at the podium, the cast member only marks one ticket of your group of tickets. Your name also goes on a list that assigns seating. So, we were in section B, seats 1-7. No one else could have taken those seats.
