Anyone tried the Fantasmic Dessert Package? What was it like? How were the desserts? How was the seating? Worth it?

We are considering it for our next trip. It will be myself, DH, and 3 kids ages, 7, 3, and 11 months. My oldest loves Fantasmic so we are doing this or a Dining Package. We usually get a snack before going into the show anyway so...I thought this might be fun. I know we can do a dining package at Mama Melrose for only a bit more money. I'm on the fence about which to do. Thought I would get some opinions for those who have done it.

We did this on Friday night. The seating is in with those who have the dining packages so right in the center. We enjoyed the desserts and we received our drinks in light up glasses. They give you your desserts in a plastic takeout box which was perfect for us as we’d just come from eating at the Food and Wine Festival. We kept the desserts in the fridge in our room and ate them over the weekend.

The desserts were good. A chocolate cupcake, a cheesecake with some type of little bubble things on top, an apple crisp, chocolate dipped strawberries, a jar with trail mix, cheese cubes and tortilla like chips. I'm not sure what the kids box has since we are both adults. We also each got a bottle of water besides our drinks in the souvenir mugs.

The adult beverage was a margarita and the nonalcoholic was a cranberry ginger ale punch. DH enjoyed his margarita. I had the punch and it was a little sour for me but others around us seemed to enjoy it.

Does picking up the dessert boxes slow down your entry into the stadium and allow the dining guests to pass you? I am asking because we always do the fantastic dining package and my daughter loves to sit front row center which we almost always get by coming very early. I would think picking up th boxes and drinks would allow a lot of dining people to pass ahead and take her coveted front row. Not a big deal for me but it would be for her. We have been thinking about doing the desserts instead of the meal since they dropped her beloved app from the Mama Melrose package.
