I searched this forum for previous posts, but couldn't find any details about the actual desserts. I did find the wdwinfo.com website that explains it, but I was interested in someone's opinion who's actually done it. SOOOOO......

What kind of desserts/drinks is it? Is it available in balcony and in premium seating? Do you have to tip if you're served?? Tell me everything you know...

Thanks all

Balcony seating will not be available after July 31st, so only Riverside is available.

I understand that is currently a boxed dessert at riverside. Can't tell you excactly what's in the box, but have read about chocolate dipped strawberries and dipped mickey rice krispy treats and macaroons.

Well, at the old Disney balcony seating (which from what I understand, will never be offered again... sniffle... sniffle... it was a big favorite of mine) for drinks they had coffee, milk, water, tea, and fantastic cocoa. For desserts they had assorted cookies (6 inches in diameter... huge things), cakes, brownies, and all kinds of candies.

We tipped the waitress each time we went because she was "Johnny on the spot" refilling our cocoa mugs.

I am in mourning over the closure.
It was the best seat in the park for Fantasmic! viewing.

I guess it will be back to the throngs for the show.
I hear the Riverside seating is not really in a good spot and not worth the money. They don't even have little tables to set your goodies on while you watch the show and munch!

"Ladies and gentleman, we are gathered here today to witness the passing of the Disneyland Fantasmic! balcony seating..."

Somewhere on this board is a great picture of the dessert box (with all of its contents) for the riverside seating, and I am going to find it and post it here! I think!;)

I was informed by a Disney Vacation Planner that once the Disney Gallery closes, the Disney Fantasmic! balcony seating will close with it. They are no longer accepting reservations. They have no plans for offering it in the future.

A true loss.

You'd think at $60 a pop they'd keep it open...it seems like they make great money. And it sounds like the seats are very hard to come by! Wow...strange move on Disney's part. I am sorry I never got to experience it, but our strategy is to eat at the River Belle then watch the show, then join the throngs for the fireworks. We'll see this year....

We sat on the balcony this year. It was a bit spendy, but worth was worth it, just to experience it at least once. The dessert table included cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, veggies, cheeses, crackers, truffles, etc. Beverages included coffee, tea, pop, hot chocolate, etc. All you could eat, and drink. Great view of the show, too!

With premium seating which i would highly recommend:
Just check in with your tickets at a podium near the seats, come back about 10-15 minutes before the show. They hand you these boxes and offer coffee, hot chocolate, water, sodas... WONDERFUL!!

The last two years we have had PS at the balcony and have enjoyed being away from everyone. My GF decided the other day that since there will be no more balcony in 3 weeks, she bought tickets for riverside. I sure hope it is worth being at crowd level.

Each person gets a box like that? Wow...that is a TON of goodies!

is this just in DL/DCA or do they do it at Disney MGM???

No, it's just Disneyland.

At MGM there is a huge arena, so no need to pay for seating, it's all there included in your theme park ticket price.

What you can do, and we have done it, is book a Fantasmic Dinner Package. We did it for New Years Eve, you have your meal in one of 3 restaurants, then before the show, you can use the side entrance, there was absolutely no queue and we got great seats! :D

Pumpkin, they are closing the balcony seating because they are closing the Gallery. They are converting it into a Disney Suite which can be awarded as a dream prize during the second YOMD. Not one of my favorite Disney decisions by far. :sad1:

i sure am mad about this. I wanted the balconey and all the nummy desserts. but now im not so sure if we should do river side. the box dosnet look that grate and two chocklet strawburrys wont be enough lol. I heard it was unlimted in the balconey seating.
an 60 dollers is alot for a box of food and river side seats.. i mean do they keepppl from getting in fround of us. i dont want to pay and then ppl to be in frount of us..
Im almost ready to just give up on it and do something else with the 60x6

That's a shame that they are giving the boxes at Premium (riverside) seating. In the past, when we've gone there, we were able to choose goodies from the cart. My dd always enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries & there were plenty. It gave you the option to choose the treats you really enjoyed, and then you'd be served various drinks, too.

I don't know that I would think $63 per person would be worth premium seating with a box in your lap.

I'll have to think on this. Lol

I guess to me, it has lot to do with what your options are. When we did the balcony last year, the folks at riverside were being given boxes so it appears it has been going on for awhile. I am not sure it is worth it to me, but it is something the GF wants to do..no option here.
