Fantasmic Dessert Deal

We are planning our first DL trip in over six years. A lot of new things going on there. :goodvibes Do they have an area for wheel chairs?

Does anyone know where a place would be that we could all 4 of us be together with one in a wheel chair or scooter?

I have to agree that $59 to $69 seems really high for a seat and a box of goodies. Yes, they do look very nice, but....I have been to WDW for their dessert parties. Guess I am spoiled. :lovestruc

They have a wheel chair area right next to the entrance of the POTC.

You could get a spot right next to the roa walkway right next to the rope, as you could see from this picture.

You can't have the wheel chair next to the railings during the show, but you can have the wheel chair right in front of the ropes next to the walkway.

Thank you so much. That looks like it will be a great area. I am in planning mode. Just love planning trips to Disney.

We were in the wheelchair section with our daughter and had a woman shove her way(the brakes were set but she still managed to move the chair) in front of my daughters chair, then proceed to lean over us to view the parade. We were furious!! Luckily a security officer was nearby and saw the whole thing. He came over and made the woman leave. I just can't believe the nerve of some people.

Disney fool, I may need that hat pin next time!

Samkj, I am so sorry to hear that happened to you family. Glad to hear that a security officer was near and came to straighten that "rude woman" out. It is sad that there seems to be rude people at Disney. Wouldn't you think everyone would be filled with joy and be a good neightbor while being in such a magical place.

UNBELIEVABLE! There are just far too many people who only care about themselves, think they can wait til the very last second to get to somewhere that others have been waiting hours for and they can just barge their way on up in front of everyone else, including a child in a wheelchair. UGH!!

Your story just reminded me that the woman was standing smack in front of our stroller, the stroller was pushed back a bit from the curb so it wasn't sticking out into the road and so that if dd wanted out of the stroller she would have somewhere to stand. That was where the woman decided to park herself. Obviously if we had known that someone would have the audacity to do that we would have made sure we had it sticking out further. My blood is actually boiling just recalling the whole incident!

Yes, we have had somthing like this happen to us in the past. My DH had recently had surgery before our last trip to WDW. He was in a ECV due to health issues at that time. We were going to watch The Spectomagic parade for the first time ever. We found a spot behind a group of people (4 adults with two small children and a double stroller) who where sitting on the curb. (We didn't know about the wheelchair area at that time.) He pulled in right behind them. Right as the parade was starting a very large woman wedged her way through the group of people behind us and between my DH's ECV which was locked and off, and stood directly in front of him. He ask her nicely to move or sit down, she just looked at him and pretended she didn't know any english !!!! :sad2: couldn't understand what it was he was trying to tell her, then a man walked up and handed her a 3 or so year old child, which she pointed to and smiled at us like this made it all ok. At this point everyone who had been sitting in front of us stood up. We tried to see what we could through all the people. Then the woman took her child and told it to stand on the front of my DH's ECV :scared1: By this time there was at least 4 rows of people behind us so there wasn't any way we could move back or leave. People who were standing behind us tryed to talk to her, she couldn't understand them either! It all was very sad as the man who came with the child mannaged to slide in from up front to stand with her and he brought two older children. I don't think I will ever get my DH back to see that parade ever again. It was just insane! My husband was so upset at what had happened and our lack of knowledge of where we should have been. He even had a person come up to him and tell him he shouldn't have been parked there. Scooters and wheelchairs are only to be in assigned areas.
My DH is a disabled veteran who has NEVER been in wheelchair before of since. He is 6'4" and very considerate of his height for others behind him in all situations. I don't think I will ever get my DH back to see Spectomagic parade ever again. It was just insane!

There are always people in the world who only think of themselves and don't care who or what they hurt.

First thing would be to call security, second would be for the vet to make it known that this is not going to work and be a little forceful. I am a vietnam vet I surely would not take this crap from anyone. The world is full of jerks and when they get away with something it just empowers them to be even more so. My to cents, and welhome to your hubby and thanks for serving our country.

I have done this twice and I thought that $59 was overpriced but acceptable. For most people, a trip to Disneyland doesn't happen very often and I think it's a wonderful indulgence to make your trip extra magical. I tallied up the approx value of the items in the box and figured that the value is somewhere between $30-40 worth of stuff. Keep in mind it is Disney so everything costs a little bit more unfortunately. If there are a bunch of people in your party it might be worth camping out instead and just taking turns sitting with the blanket. I was on solo trips when I purchased my dessert seatings. No matter what you choose, I hope your experience is truly magical! :wizard:
