Hi , Has anyone ever been to the Fantasmic Dessert buffet? Is it worth the cost of the ticket? Seems a bit expensive but doable if it makes a difference. What are your thoughts???

Thanks!:tinker: :dancer:

Just a FYI, they are no longer offering Balcony seating for F!. They only have riverside seating, and currently it is not a buffet, but a dessert box. Not sure if they may change it to a buffet in the future.

My DH and I and several friends are scheduled to do the Fantasmic dessert seating. I thought it was a buffet, but if it is a box, what's in it?

Does anyone know how much this costs?
Does this mean that the seating is in the reserved seating area by the riverside?
Can you still make reservations by calling the Dining number?

We are going in August, and had planned to do the dessert buffet - but I guess we will have to change to this, depending on the cost.

I think it's like $40-$45 but I could be wrong. And yes it's only riverside seating now, no more balcony. Don't know about the reservations, although I do know you can make them at the day you visit at City Hall.

You too can get a plethora of cookies, rice crispy treats and two chocolate covered strawberries worth a grand total of about $5 for 59 smackers. Step right up. The next time someone gripes on the WDW boards about the fantasmic dinner package being a rip off, I am going to link em to that pic and tell them to count their blessings.

Honestly that's what I was thinking too. I could always go buy some goodies and were pretty good and getting front seats for Fantasmic when we wait for the second show (basically as the first one is ending rush in and sit down!). So I'm not sure if that kind of a price for a box of goodies is worth it! :confused3 I think the balcony was pretty neat though.

I agree. Our family did the balcony seating a year ago. It was pricey but I looked at it as a once-in-a-lifetime thing and at that time, DS was under 3 so we did not have to pay for him. The view was excellent--no obstacles and dead center. For me, it was worth it not to have to stake out a spot 2 hours ahead of time especially with 2 young kids. If it were just DH and me, we wouldn't mind the wait.

Also, the dessert buffet was scrumptious and the selection amazing. They would take your drink orders and bring them to you. We couldn't book the first seating, which IMO was preferable as you could stay for the fireworks and chow down more dessert and coffee!

I hope they bring it back! DD was 6 at the time and when she was back in school and had to do a speech about a recent travel experience, she spent half the speech on the balcony experience--it was her favorite part of that vacation!

I too am a bit dissapointed.......I ordered my tickets a few weeks ago and while I knew that the balcony seating was no longer available I was ok with it......however I DID NOT know about the dessert buffet now being a dessert "box" :sad2: After seeing the picture it's cute....but i'm not sure it's worth my $$....When I purchased the tickets the woman I bought them from never mentioned the buffet being a box, makes me a little mad. But there not refundable so guess i'm stuck with them.....oh well gotta live a little:goodvibes

I too am disappointed that the balcony is no longer offered. I was hoping to do balcony for our 1st time in July. We did Riverside seating in 2004 when it was a buffet. After looking at the photo of the box of desserts I must say that I actually prefer the box desserts to the buffet. When we went in 2004, the plates were small and only 6-8 pieces of desserts would fit comfortably on our plates. I like the box because whatever you don't finish can be taken with you for later.

Thanks for the awesome picture...visuals definately make my decisions for me...couple of questions...does each person get one of the dessert boxes or is that one per group? (Not that I couldn't eat the whole box myself, but it does look like it would be for more than one person). Does it come with a drink too? Last question...I read somewhere for children that it comes with a souvenir box...is it different for kids? Is it something they can keep?
Thanks!

Sorry if I missed it, but why no more balcony seating? We did that last year and loved it...wanted to try it again this summer:sad1:

I was wondering the same thing -- does anyone know? Thanks:flower3:

I know when we did it we each got our own box. There were also drinks provided. They asked what we wanted and got it for us. They also asked if anyone was celebrating their birthday. Our son was, and they gave him a card signed by all of the cast members there and a glow bracelet thingy.
