Fantasmic Date Dilemma

I am unable to reach the other two members of my vacation party (husband and mom.) I really need some advice now. I decided to purchase Fantasmic seating. I am going to call VP and purchase tickets this morning.

We are driving from NM to Anaheim, starting on a Saturday evening. We will probably drive to at least Flagstaff and spend the night in a hotel. The next morning we will continue the trip to Anaheim, arriving sometime in the afternoon I imagine.

The day of our arrival is a Sunday. Fantasmic has two shows that day: 9P and 1030P. Do you think it would be a bit much (or cutting it close) to reserve seats for one of these shows? My kids are 5 and 3 years old. They adapt to anything very easily.

The other option is to wait until Friday (the day before we leave) and see it then.

You could definitely do it on the Sunday, but that will be one LOOOOONNNNNG day! Even with the 9 pm show, you probably won't get your little ones to bed until close to midnight by the time you make it back to the hotel and settle everyone down (if they make it through the show). And it depends on how worn out the adults are after two days of driving whether or not you'll enjoy it, or just be really tired throughout it. If I was making a reservation, I would probably wait for the following Friday, and then if you're all up to it, try to do the fireworks instead on your arrival day. That will give you much more flexibility because if you don't feel like staying up that late, you can catch the fireworks another night!

The first year we went, we only had Sunday night to catch everything! (and it was our first day) So we somehow managed to do Fantasmic AND the fireworks in one night, but boy were we tired! The next year, we were able to spread things out more, and it was much less hectic!

As always, this is just my humble opinion, and I know there are other much more experienced DISers out there who may have different advice!:goodvibes

Hope this helps, though!

Sounds like our vacation. We are driving from the 4-corners to DL in January, we will also be driving to Flaggstaff the first night and then on to Anaheim. We will be arriving on Saturday, and was going to do Seaworld Sunday during the day and then try to catch Fantasmic in the evening as I think they only show on sat and sun during that time of the year. I am going will a teen so the late night will not be a problem, but let us know how it goes!
