fantasmic check-in, pick up tix ??

Hello everyone! I did it! I made ressies for Fantasmic dessert seating! They said I should pick up my tix at guest services, where is that??? (please describe for a 1st timer ) Also, I read here on the DIS that you are supposed to "check-in", but the CM didn't say anything about that.....please tell me, where do I check-in? And if I am doing the 9pm show, what time am I supposed to check-in?? Thanks!!!!

I was told to check in at 7 p.m. by the CM (another person told me to get there a half hour before that and get in the line cause it is first come first serve to pick your seat) then you can leave and come back right before the show. The guest relations office is by the entrance to Californa Adventure I was told and you have to have a picture ID and the credit card you used to purchase the tickets.

You need to check in at the fantasmic seating area (from 7 I think, might be 7.30.) All they will do is assign you your seats so you can return for the show at 9pm. There can be a bit of a queue at check in time, but you don't all have to be there -just send one of your party. Some people have had problems with viewing from the fantasmic seating area - I must say we haven't- and the first time we didn't even check in - just turned up at around show time! (ignorance is bliss). So you can be sure of your view if you check in early.

Guest services are located at the main gate. We did have some problems one year picking up our tickets - ended up going to several offices. Leave some time in case it isn't straightforward, becuase even Disney has the odd admin nightmare!

I agree, check in early. They told me an hour before the show. Thankfully, we were in the area around 7pm and they were setting up the chairs so I went over and we were second on the list. We got to choose our seats second so we choose front row of course.

I'm hoping to book this for our May trip, and was wondering if you could confirm the following:

1) Pick up tickets at Guest Services, then
2) Check in near the Fantasmic seating area approx. 2 hours before the show

Am I understanding this correctly?

When we went in September we picked up our tickets early in the day at the booth to the left of the main gates outside the park. (I think it is customer services.) Then we got in line about 6:30 for check in. We were told they hardly ever start lining up that early but we were glad we did because on this particular night everyone was there well before 7. Check in location was across from Haunted Mansion by the churro cart. When we came back to be seated there was some confusion on the part of cms as to where we check in but hopefully by now they have worked out this problem. We started trying to make our way into the area to take our seats about 20 minutes early. I would recommend about this much time to make sure you can get through the crowd and just in case you run into any other problems.

Thanks for the info! So, I get to pick where I want to sit when I check-in? What would you recommend if I have my choice of seats (ie, I am the first one to check in)?? I assume front row?? But is one side better or in the middle? There is just two of us. Thanks, I appreciate your help!! I've never been to DL and don't know the layout, so want to make good choices given the opportunity!!
