Okay, So since I last have been to Disneyland there was no dinning packages, FP for the shows either. It was just show up save you spot and you're good.

Now, much has changed and I'm planning on letting my 3 kids and myself watch the show on our last day which would be on a Friday.

I won't do dinning packages due to the kids and the food would be more wasted on them, but I know I will get FP. I assume you can choose to show you want to see either the 1st or 2nd. I plan to do that first thing coming in the morning with my MP.

Are there multiple FP viewing sections? Which one would be good for the kids, one will be in a stroller, and I assume everyone still has to sit for the show. I don't mind them getting wet from the show. sometimes the wind blows in that right direction and the water mists on you throughout the show.

Just trying to get everything prepared to make the most out of the trip and this is the only day to catch Fantasmic.

I can answer just a few of your questions. First, you can’t get Fantasmic fastpasses with MaxPass. You have to go to the distribution kiosk, which is over by the loading dock for the Mark Twain and Columbia.

Second, you can’t choose which show per se. You have to wait for the first show FP to run out before pulling your fastpasss if you want the second show.

As PP said, you can sort of pick your show by timing when you pull the FP - if you want the first show you could pull first thing in the morning like you were planning, but you can't do it through the app.

I haven't been to see the show in a long time, but I've heard that it's generally standing only unless you're in one of the dining package sections.

Things have changed haha, now, since I have a 4 year old her standing in the crowd I think would make it hard for her to see the show. I assume you're allowed to put smaller kids on your shoulders? Or is this not allowed as well anymore?

Speaking from experience with fireworks and WoC (it has been a while since I've seen Fantasmic but I assume the same rules apply), it's allowed (or at least, people do it and I've never seen a CM intervene) but putting a kid fully on your shoulders would completely block the view of people behind you, so it's not the friendliest option, especially if you don't do it until the show starts and the people behind you were counting on being able to see over you. If you want to put them on your shoulders you could try to take a spot toward the back so you're not blocking too many people and/or warn the people in your vicinity that that's what you plan to do before the show starts so they have time to find a better spot. A better option IMO is to hold the child on your back, so that her head is roughly level with yours, so she can have the same view you do but without blocking too much.

Honestly I think one of the reasons they switched to standing room only for regular FP is so they can charge more for the dining packages for privilege of getting to sit down and not having to deal with the height issue.

I agree with the PP that if you want to put your child on your shoulders you should try for a spot in the back, as this blocks the view of those behind you.
