Fantasmic and Osborne Lights on same night??

We've never seen Fantasmic and are thinking about doing the dinner package. Fantasmic is at 7:00 on Fridays and MGM closes at 8:00. How can we also see the the Osborne lights??

hmmmm, with dinner before the show, you probably can't do both the same night.................... unless you rush over to Osborne and meander around till they tell ya to leave.......

Maybe we'll have to skip Fantasmic (again) cause I really want to see the lights.

I asked a similar question some time back, and I think that you'll be ok to see the lights after the show. We were there last week, and I think Fantasmic was over at 7:30. We also went on a night w/ EMH at MGM which was fabulous. After 8:00, the park was a ghost town, and we got to spend all the time we wanted with the lights and walked right onto some rides - it had been VERY crowded earlier in the day. Both Fantasmic and Osborne lights are not to be missed if at all possible!

You will have plenty of time to see the lights after Fantasmic! We did this last year and it worked out just great. In fact, after Fantasmic was over, they announced over the PA system that Osborne Lights were open and there would be plenty of time for seeing them. Go and enjoy!

we were there just a couple weeks ago........saw fantasmic at 7 and then had plenty of time for osborne lights......park closing was at 8 but we still had lots of time......I don't think we actually left until about 8:45, CMs were not rushing people at all......but even if they were we still had time to seen it all by 8. We will be at MGM on December 16th which is suppose to be a day MGM is open later.
How does this affect the Osborne lights times?
I have read that there will be 2 Fantasmic shows on the 16th. One at 7 and one at 8:30.
How late is MGM open on extended days?
We have 7:45 dinner at 50's Prime Time.
We would like to see the 7:00 Fantasmic, 7:45 dinner, then see the lights before we leave the park.
But will they still be on that late????
Trying to avoid the mad rush for the buses.

Was at MGM this past Saturday and did both. Hit the Lights from about 7 pm to 8 pm, then headed over to Fantasmic for their 2nd showing at 8:30. The amphitheatre was only about 3/4 full. It worked perfectly.

It also worked great because I'm sure a lot of people were at the 7 pm Fantasmic while we were at Osbourne, so the Osbourne Lights were not that crowded.

So not only did it work, but it worked perfectly.

If you do the dinner package, the dinner is usually pretty early like 4:30 or 5:00. Since you have reserved seating, you might could see the lights in between dinner and Fantasmic. It is just a walk through, so it does not take very long.

Was at the Studios on Thanksgiving. The lights go on near sunset and stay on till 9pm?
Then there were two Fantasmic shows, plenty of time to do both things.
I would do the early Fantasmic show and then see the lights. Very crowded when the lights first go on. Plus all the people with kids should be gone and they leave the lights on later than most rides are open I believe. I think the lights are on for an hour after the park closes.

Thanks for all the replies. We will be at MGM on 12/15 when there is only one Fantasmic show at 7:00.

S.Poppins, good point about eating early and then a quick walk thru of the lights, and then still getting in Fantasmic with our reserved seats for the 7:00 show. Hmmmmmm - it might be possible!!
