We are planning on going to the dinner and Fantasmic show during our trip. We will be going with my whole family (brother his family, parents, sister her family) and my family. I have a ds who his 4 and a ds who will be 2. I am really wondering if this show is 2 "scary" for my ds who will be 2.

He has been through so much in his short two years of life. He was born with a bilateral cleft lip/palate. He seems to be cared of nothing but I am just worried the crowd and excitment might be alot for him...

We took DD for her first trip to WDW for her 2nd b-day. There were parts she loved, Mickey :cloud9: , and parts that scared her...mostly the misty water. She had issues at the time with getting her face wet and we sat a little to close. The other thing that scared her and still does today, were the fireworks at the end. She is terrified of loud noises. But that being said, she enjoyed most of the show, we just knew that when it came time for the fireworks, she needed to be on one of our laps with her head buried in a shoulder.

If you think the little ones won't make it thru the show, sit up at the back and towards the end of the row so you can leave if need be.

I had been wondering about this too. I had read a couple of places that younger kids are often afraid of Fantasmic. Sitting in the back makes sense. Does anyone know if the Fantasmic dinner package reserved seating is close to an exit?

It is a dark show as far as content at times. Maybe you could take the DS4 and your DH could take the DS2 somewhere else.

I guess I should also mention that since he will just be 2 I don't know how he would react to fireworks. This is only his second time seing them
Was just looking for others with young ones who have gone through it....

We did Fantasmic when ds was a little over 2 and dd was almost 4. It is scary but also really neat! DS was actually fine. He was pretty oblivious to the scare factor. DD was mush more concerened about the scare factor and the fireworks. I just hit their heads in my shoulder if/when they were scared. I admit that I drug them there b/c I really wanted to see it. It's really good!

I wouldn't recommend it. My kids hated it at that age, and quite honestly, even at ages 5 and 6 now - aren't thrilled with it. It is never a thing they'd say 'Mommy can we PLEASE go to Fantasmic' - even though they would probably sit through it at this point. DD was 3 last time we tried - she cried the whole time (keep in mind - it is already past her bedtime too - so both factors played a role) - I had to walk her around in the back of the theater and peek around anytime it wasn't as scary. Decided against going back for a few years since ds who was 5 didn't even really like it either. What can I say - they like HAPPY themes.

So - kids will be 7 and 5 on September trip - on our DHS day we are taking a boat across to Cape May for dinner and then just hanging on the beach there and watching the outdoor movie they show instead. MUCH MORE up my kids' alley.

We took our kids last trip at 4 and not quite two and they did fine. The older one actually loved it, the characters, etc. We each held one on our laps and sat a few rows from the back in case we needed to leave. But they didnt have any trouble with it. We plan on going again this year with the kids 7, 4 and 1.

I wouldnt sit right down in the front, but we didnt have any troubles!

Oh my goodness. My DD2 was PETRIFIED of the fireworks at MK. PETRIFIED. She hung so tight onto me and SOBBED into my shoulder/neck. We didn't go to Fantasmic or Illuminations because of this. Finally, almost 2 months later, she will actually watch them on the camcorder/tv. I would try first to watch the fireworks in MK and see how they do. If they are ok w/ those, then I would go.

They are a bit young for the show...have seen many children have to leave because they get scared Good luck have a great trip
