Fantasia Pool Refurb

Hi,

I just heard from Mouseplanet that the Fantasia pool refurb has been extended until Feb 18th 2007!

I'm gutted about this as we arrive at ASMo on January 15th.

If this is the case, to all those who have seen the pool refurb at present - what are they actually doing? Is the whole area a mess, are the builders making a lot of noise... etc etc.

I'm trying to decide whether I should change resorts or not. I really really want to stay at ASMo but not if it is noisy building work etc.

Also I have not paid for a preferred room so I'm gonna get either Love Bug or Mighty Ducks right? It looks to me like the All Star Music main pool is actually a shorter walk than the ASMo one? Am I right?

Any info would be great.

Sorry I can't help you--we've stayed in ASMo every time we've gone in recent years. I would NOT want to be around a bunch of noisy work though if you can help it. You're supposed to be there to have fun and relax--not be in the middle of a construction zone! On the other hand, they're probably not going to be working when you're at the resort--I'm sure they start after most people have headed out for the day and stop well before people return. Your major inconvenience would be not having access to the pool.

I have only paid for a preferred room once and we stayed at Fantasia. Other than that we've stayed at Toy Story once and 101 Dalmations twice. However, on one trip where we stayed in Dalmations, our friends had to stay in Herbie. They were NOT happy!!!

We stayed at ASMo 9/30 - 10/9. We were in the dalmation building. Each morning we walked by the fantasia pool to get to breakfast and no work was being done. They have it enclosed but you can see through. They were either not working on the pool during our stay or doing it after 10:00 a.m. We used both the mighty ducks pool and the guitar pool at ASMu in the afternoon or evening. Neither were overcrowded. Hope you have a great trip. Wish I was going in January.

We were at ASMo from 9/23-9/29.

Never saw anyone working on the pool, never heard any noise coming from that area so I actually don't know WHAT they are doing to the pool!!

We were in the Dalmations bldg. and used the "quiet" Mighty Ducks pool twice, both times it got a little crowded for us so we went back to the room.

Same here, i was there 9/25-10/6 and didnt see anything...i thought that it was because we left the resort early in the morning and came back about 10-11 pm....but now reading other posts i see that no one worked there...so, no noise...

I was there with my family from 9/27 -10/3/06 and each and everytime we went past it, I saw no one. They have this fencing all around the pool and you can see right through it. It didn't bother us because we were staying in the Toy Story building and the kids were too anxious to get to the parks to even care.

I guess it would have bothered me more if I was staying in one of the Fantasia buildings. And yes I think you are right as far as the Non-preferred rooms being located in the Mighty ducks and Herbie buildings and a definite yes about it being a shorter walk to ASMu pool.

Hi all,

This refurb is now listed on allearsnet.com (reopen date February 18th 2007). I can't decide what to do about this, I want to stay at ASMo but I am worried about the pool situation.

We were there Sept28-Oct3 saw the fence up but no working being done
