Does anyone have a great fanny pack that they would reccomend? I've read lots of posts and many people swear by them...I thought I would give one a try on our next trip! Kid sized ones would be nice too...

The one I carry is black and made out of canvas. It is light weight , has adjustable belt on it. I try and remove it for pictures, since its not so flattering around the waist, but it holds alot (EXTRA FILM, CAMERA, TICKETS,MONEY) we bring a backpack which end up in the stroller that we rent there. Although not sure we will rent one this trip, the kids r getting a little too big for one.

I just ordered this one (great price!!!) and am looking forward to using it in January. I like that the outside pockets are big enough to hold a standard waterbottle as well. Anything has to be better than a backpack.. :-/

Another thing I really liked the first time I used it was that I could adjust the smaller straps in such a way that I could wear it over a shoulder like a regular pocketbook or totebag if the waistbelt was opened all the way. And being as short as I am I could actually wear it like one of those slingbags, :rotfl2:

My husband and I got our fanny packs from ebags.com
They were great! large enough for me to carry camera and my husband carried our camcorder in his. Best of all it could carry water bottles. I carried my water and my dd water....He carried his water and our ds water.
Here is a link I hope it works!

P.S many people dont like the look of fanny packs, OK they are not the prettiest things, but your at a theme park! your not there to make a fashion statement :rotfl:

I DID NOT want to do the fanny pack "thing", but I reluctantly did. I almost left it home at the last minute ,I had so much anxiety over wearing the stupid thing  . I ended up getting one that had a shoulder strap that you connect to it, and that's how I wore mine. I just couldn't bring myself to hook it around my waist ( or fanny :goodvibes ) It worked out just fine, I would alternate shoulders ( not like a purse, but sideways across my front ), and there was only a couple times where my shoulder hurt, but it wasn't bad at all. I too, bought it off ebags, they have a great selection to chose from. I think it was a HighSierra, corkscrew maybe :confused3 I forget now exactly, but I know it was a good one. It was waterproof, so I felt comfortable with my stuff inside of it.
Good Luck finding one that suits you! :)

That means the kids are ready for fannypacks of their own!
It really helps for kids to carry stuff too. Nothing important, of course, but things like their snacks, etc. My youngest even carried a diaper and wipes when he was 3 and 'mostly' potty-trained.

our kids got pink and purple ones at Wal mart for our trip and this is what they put in them and carried themselves all day:

autograph book
camera
pens
brochures from parks
small water bottle
disney dollars
key to the kingdom (it has a small change purse inside the front pocket...

these worked out PERFECTLY for us except we had to tie our 5 yo in a know to fit her waist she is really small!!

they did not whine or ask me to carry anything at all (although she did leave her Mickey in the Peter Pan flight boat on the night of Sept 28) they really liked and I really liked the hands free idea and they had such independence, it was great!

I would suggest a fanny pack Wal mart has them for 4 bucks and they have breast cancer awareness packs in black with the pink ribbon for 5 dollars

have fun!!

As much as I hate to tout Wal-Mart ;) , I got mine there. Cheap, worked great, and was just as well-made as the one my mom bought at WDW. Of course, it didn't have Mickey on it... :guilty:

iron ons are great for that!!

Hobby Lobby even wal mart might have some!!!

I laught at my sister for buying a fanny pack for Disney but the more I thought about it, I went out and bought one. I got one that can carry two water bottle and hold anything else a "MOM" would have to carry. :earboy2:

I also got one for my dd princess: also with a water bottle holder. This way she carried what she wanted to take in the park.

My rule: you bring it, you carry it :flower:

At first I felt funny about wearing a fanny pack because it isn't really my style, but wearing one was one of the best decisions we made concerning our trip!

I bought mine at a Totes outlet. What I liked about the one I bought is that it had separate compartments. One compartment was credit card-sized, so I could put our park passes and room keys in there. The middle compartment was the perfect place for some cash. The side compartment was perfect for hand wipes. And, it even had a little zipper area, just the right size for Fastpasses.

I liked having everything organized in the fanny pack. If you get one with a lot of compartments, it'll avoid digging around for whatever it is you need. I can't imagine going back to WDW without my fanny pack. : )

Oh, and we got water bottle holders (with shoulder straps) from Wal-Mart. They were great, too! When dh and I weren't wearing our baseball hats, we'd just strap them around the water bottle holder.
