Fancy toiletries at the Grand Floridian?

Silverlilly! LOL!

I honestly never use the toiletries provided by hotels...prefer my own brands, esp for my long hair.

However, a couple weeks ago we stayed at the Wyndam at Canal Place in NewOrleans (Got the $99 special ,but were upgraded to the "Room with a view" because our room wasn't ready-yes!)...anyhoo...this hotel chain's toiletries are supplied by The Golden Door Spa in CA.First there is large green cut glass plate that all the products sit on. The hand soap is a clear green glycerin leaf and all the products fragrances were out of this world herbals. I even got on their web site when I got home and recieved a catalog to buy some of the things i used-they were THAT spectacular.

Never felt that way about the Mickey products provided by WDW-they are cute & they clean you. And all the guests at WDW recieve the same thing...big deal.

Now, this sounds like the kind of stuff I like. Care to share that website with the class?;)

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Disney found out all our favorite toiletries & food stuff ahead of time and had it there waiting for us when we arrived?! Now that would be concierge service I wouldn't mind paying extra for!:teeth:

FYI- if you stay at the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa in downtown Disney, you also get those Golden Door spa products in every room.

Thanks for all of the info! I've loved hotel toiletries ever since I was a kid and I haven't outgrown them yet. I'm always happy to be in WDW regardless of where we stay, but those GF toiletries sounded extra special!!!

Wow, guys, such un-disneylike behavior! ;)

Personally, I think it would be cute if the soaps were themed to each resort, but guess what? It's just soap. I don't care how much you pay for a room, I wouldn't mind getting the standard Mickey stuff. It wouldn't be Disney without it!

Besides, I bring my own shampoo for color treated hair, and another kind to get the chlorine out. I thought everyone brought their own bathroom stuff?

...shampoo or soap, it's just a few extra things that i don't have to pack. Personally the hotel chains that supply the best IMO are Hyatt (Portico products), and W hotels (Aveeda products).

Mitch, I'm a little curious as to why you think expecting more for paying more qualifies as "entitlement"? If you didn't get more for paying more, what would be the point?

Are you paying a much as the GF? If you aren't you shouldn't expect what the GF gets. I guess I see it more as pecking order. If the GF is the top, the as you move down the chain each has a little less.

We've been staying at the Poly since 1983 and they used to have toiletries that were specific to the Poly...Poly logo, matched the decor, etc.. I suppose as they opened so many more resorts they found it easier to only have one kind (other than those at the GF) but I miss the attention to detail.

I don't think it's a sense of entitlement to expect nice toiletries when you pay deluxe room prices. Deluxe disney resorts are the only deluxe rooms that we've stayed in that have such mediocre products. Does that stop us from loving our trips there...not one bit, but it is OK to discuss it without getting slammed.

And poor Janet2K...just trying to give a factual reply and such responses :o ! I think some of us must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed!

Original question!

I saw a TV program that showed beautiful toiletries for guests at the Grand Floridian resort (full-sized old-fashioned bottles of grapefruit shampoo, etc.). Can anyone who's stayed there tell me more about them? Do guests in all rooms get these toiletries or are they just for suites or concierge floor rooms?

A nice civil answer!

Those full size bottles shown were in the Victorian Suite. If you are staying in a suite like that, yes, you would get the big bottles. Otherwise, you'll get the ones ducklite described.

The rest of the bickering on this thread has done nothing except cause it to be closed..........
