We were just curious. If we talk my mom into doing DVC as well and then we all want to stay together one year, can we split the points (use part from my points and part from her points)?

You can combine points. But your points have to cover one full night. For instance, you can pay for Sun through Wed and your parent's can pay for Thur, Fri and Sat. You just tell MS to link the 2 reservations. I've done this many times as there are 3 in my family who own DVC.

The other way would be to transfer points. If the reservation took 600 points, you could transfer or your parents could transfer 300 points into the other person's account. However, just remember that you can only transfer points in or out once per UY.

If you can work it out to link the reservation based on the OP's recommendation, that would personally be my preferred choice.
