So this thread is partially for entertainment of obsessive planners who would have fun helping a fellow dis er plan a trip, and partially to help cheer me up. My family lost their matriarch today at the age of 100. :( If you have read my posts before you might know I plan Disney trips mostly for my dad who's the biggest Disney lover and it's his mom that we just lost.

Anyway as my grandma has been getting worse in the past year my aunt has been primary caregiver. She's going to have a huge adjustment and a lot of grief ahead. She's never been able to join our trips due to caregiving. She does like Disney and went with me on my first trip in 1984.

Anyway, that is the backstory. I am just wanting some suggestions so I can plan something later on when the family feels ready-2017 maybe?

I was in the past thinking about renting dvc at beach club because my aunt used to love epcot and water parks. I would love to look at a bunch of options though which could accommodate all of us. It would be:

My family (5 or 4 depending on my DH schedule- more than likely 4 which would be me and 3 kids)

My parents- 2 Disney loving senior citizens who rarely have any complaints

My aunt- single no kids

Possibly my single adult brother.

Would there be accommodations to fit all of us? I feel like I have read about some, but which resorts and which would give each "family"/individual their most privacy each? I'm not worried so much about me as I can sleep anywhere, but probably makes sense to have one room for me and my kids then spaces for the others.

I'd really love to treat my aunt in the future so thank you in advance for reading. Any advice you can give will help me set a budgeting goal- and also help me a little to deal right now. :) :) thanks again!!!

Sorry to hear about your Grandma.... but WOW 100 is an incredible accomplishment.
I would consider booking two rooms and if your children don't mind sharing a bed with your aunt and one with you the third can sleep on the daybed. Then your parents and brother can sleep in the other room. You could request a connecting room and that way you could all still be together technically. Beach club is a great resort. I would stay on the resort side and not the DVC because I think there are more Real beds as opposed to sofa beds or pull outs.

So sorry for your loss! It's so tough to say goodbye at any age :)

Boardwalk has 3 bedrooms that sleep 12 and studios with Murphy bed (sleep 5). Also usually a better value points wise IMO.

That is a great idea!!!

If we do not bring my husband (deathly fear of clowns!!)- this is another great idea as my aunt would love the boardwalk.

I happen to really like it there. I'm really excited to go back. While it would be nice to try out storm along bay, we enjoy the Luna park pool and the clown slide. Last year we had clown view...this year its boardwalk! You are also still a pleasant walk away from BC and its dining as well as DHS and EPCOT.

FYI the 3 bedrooms are difficult to book. Needs to be done by an owner 11 months out (maybe less sometimes, but it doesn't hurt to be conservative). But there are all kinds of studios, one bedrooms and 2 bedrooms. We booked 2- 2 bedrooms last February for a party of 11. We had to go out to eat together comfortably but we made it work.

Ahh! I started looking at prices of your suggestions and checked my email and got a pin code this afternoon! It's for this summer though and this is my and DH 10th anniversary so we are planning a trip for just us. Bummer- I definitely could not pay for 2 trips.

But for pricing sake I was trying to price it anyway, and maybe something's wrong with Disney's site now? It keeps telling me it cannot check resort availability. Maybe I can check another day. If you have experience getting either of the resorts mentioned with a pin offer please let me know how it would compare price wise to renting dvc points. Thank you!
