Thank you everyone. Let me refine my question (situation) here. I was told that toddlers under 3-year-old can:
1). eat FREE at any Buffet-style or All-U-Can Eat restaurants (as one Disney staff told me, "feel free to grab a plate and feed your little one.")
2). In Al la Carte (menu order), adult can always share his/her plate with the little one. Of course, if you want to order something for your toddler, you have to pay.
Since I have booked a few Family Style Character Dining (e.g. Garden Grill, Liberty Tree Tavern), they are considered All-U-Can-Eat category. I heard that the food are being served in a huge platter.

Since we have a party 4 adults + 1 todder (2-year-old), my question is: will they serve us ONLY a plate of Family Style Platter? Is it possible to request some items from "Young Gardener's Menu" for the toddler, or I have to pay for that if I made such request?
In other words, in a regular buffet, I can grab some food from "Kid's corner" (e.g. Macaroni and Cheese) and feed my toddler. Since at a family style restaurant, the servers are bring the plate to the table, so I wonder if my toddler can share adult's food only.
My wife and I had a little debate last night on this issue. I wanted to pay for a child dining plan (around $15 per day?) for my 2-year-old daughter, just to avoid troubles. However, my wife said it is not worthwhile as toddler is entitled to eat Free
