:scared1: Just reading a trip report where a family ate at a restaurant that served family style meal, and were seated "family style" i.e. sat at a table w/ other couple/family....does every restaurant that serves family style (CRT/PSB) meal also have family style seating?? PLease advise , we are travelling w/ 2 year old twins who I'm sure could ruin the dining experience of any unlucky travelers seated w/ us....not to mention the fact that I really don't want to share my families vacation w/ a table of strangers every meal, as we are booking a lot of PS for character meals that are served family style...HELP!!!!!!!! :worried:

The only restaurant that I know for sure seats you with others is Japan in Epcot. We've eaten at LTT, CRT, O'Hana (all family style) and NEVER been seated with any other people. Hope this helps. Have fun.

SciFi also puts other ppl in your car - thats 1 of the reasons I decided against it - there's only 2 of us so the chances of being put w/others is high!

Im still planning on Teppenyaki/Japan for lunch but thats the type of meal where being w/others may actually be beneficial

At Teppenyaki- You still get your own food. You don't share with the other families.

Yes, you do sit family style for Teppanyaki in Epcot. However, this is standard at any Japanese restaurant. I love Japanese food and this is the way that the food is prepared and served. (I must say excellent food at Teppanyaki!) As for the Liberty Tree Tavern, the food for dinner is served family style (lunch is just individual items), but the tables are not meant for family style dining (i.e. 8-10 people to a table). We have a family of four and have never sat at a table larger than a table that would seat four. (Once again, great food. We always dine here!) I have never dined at CRT or O'Hana. Our family didn't like the SciFi, but, honestly, I can't recall if we sat with other people when we went. What other restaurants are you considering? Let me know and I'll do my best to remember! :)

Germany's restaurant Biergarten also sits you with other people. It is a table for 8, actually 2 tables of 4 pushed together. The others sitting with you are next to you, you sit across from your own family. We have always put our boys on the outside and they never had to have contact with whoever sat with us.

Always had our own booths at all the family style places.

We've been to CRT, PSB and Ohana - all family style but we never shared a table with anyone. You do have to share a table at Germany's Biergarten but that is buffet style.

Have you tried Sci-Fi before? My dh and I went to WDW on our honeymoon and ate there. Yes, we were in the very back seat of a car with another family, but I did not feel the least bit out of place. I did not feel like I was having dinner with them, and did not feel that we were intruding on their dinner. Of course, if you have been there before and decided you didn't like the setup, that's a whole different story. Also, I have seen pictures that show a limited amount of small tables if you would be more comfortable with that kind of arrangement...

My brother and I went to sci fi last year and we were put in a car with another family. We were the same didn't feel out of place! Our server introduced us to the family and said something about paying for gas! Oh yeah and he called us hitch hikers!!!!
