I've always just eaten on the go while at Disney, but now that I have a husband and two kids I figure I need to plan something where we actually sit down. If we eat at Liberty Tree Tavern, do we not have a choice of what to eat off a menu? We just have to eat what they put on the table? Do the kids get their own plate to eat off of or they eat the same things that we do? I'm so confused about this whole thing. I've never heard of such. Can anyone explain it to me please? Thanks!

I think that at lunch, there is a menu. We were there a few weeks ago for dinner, and it was a set menu for the whole family. They just brought out big dishes of all the food, and plates for everyone. We helped ourselves.

If theres something on the plate you dont like, see if they will switch it out with something extra in place of it, like extra turkey or something. When DH and I ate at Garden Grill in Sept 2003 there was something we didnt like, cant remember what it was, I think it was fish, but they just simply replaced it with extra meat.

We eat at LTT at least once every trip. This past trip we ate there twice. The dinner is a set menu and they bring everything to the table. Kids eat what the adults eat. If there is something you want more of or something you don't want at all, you can tell your server. Our kids are very picky and would not eat most of what they served so we made sure that we told them to use smaller bowls than the usual ones so we didn't waste all that food. I can't imagine how much they have to throw out each day. The food is really good!

Right, basically family style means the main items will be served, like at home, on the table on a single plate, or in a single bowl. The exception is the salad-served individually. And like others have said, you eat the items you want, and then ask for seconds (or thirds) of the items you want more of. My DD, last Sept, really enjoyed the turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes. None of us cared for the mac 'n cheese-too mushy! However, that was the only item we didn't like. You can re-order as much as you want.

You all get your own plates too.

(I have a link below of our meals in Sept, inc. LTT (for MNSSHP).

And yes, lunch is different, you order off a menu, individually.

Try it, you'll like it!

Thanks for all the input! I think we will make ADR for Chef Mickey's character dinner, the Garden Grill character dinner, and Tony's. If I'm correct these are all places where we can pick our food from a variety of choices instead of all being stuck with just one plate. While I would like to try the Liberty Tree, I'm afraid the set menu of no chicken tenders or hot dogs would cause a problem. Luckily for me my youngest eats everything! Thanks again! :thumbsup2

We don't do LTT anymore for that reason. DD is very pickey. We go to the buffets at Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's where she can choose what she likes. I liked LTT, but it makes no sense for us to go there if the kids won't eat anything.

The Garden Grill does bring Kid friendly foods out (chicken nuggets) with the regular family style dishes. We are eating there in Aug. and our friends ate there in March of this year. Try allears.net for the menus.
