Hi we will be 4 adults and 2 children 4 and 6 can anyone compwre 2 adjoining rooms at all star as opposed to family suite .Also for 8 nights what would be the cost difference and why would the suite cost more thks daveb

If you get 2 rooms there is no guarantee the rooms would be adjoiniing or close to each other, in a suite you'd all be in the same rooms.

In rooms there are 2 double beds, 1 table & 2 chairs. In a suite there is 1 queen, a couch that folds out to a double bed, a chair and ottoman that fold out to twins, one table with 2 chairs.

In a suite you get a small kitchen area with fridge coffee pot and microwave.

I think the extra cost is about what a fridge for a room would cost.

Choose by what's more important to you.

In the suite, there are also 2 bathrooms, 2 safes and 2 TV's. I believe there is a chair and dresser in the bedroom.

2 rooms at the Values are approx $164/night during value season and the Suite is $184/night. The good thing with the suite, you do not pay the extra $10/night for extra adults in the room. Of course, you wouldn't pay that with 2 rooms, but as the PP said you are not guaranteed connecting rooms.

If I was traveling with another family, I would rather be guaranteed that we will be close together, especially if each family has 1 child each.

Here is a post from minnie61650 that has all the info you will ever need about the ASMu Suites

that you'll get connecting rooms-- but--- in 25 trips over the last 7 years (OMG i didnt realize it was that many till we sat down and really thought about it just now!!!)-- we've only just a few times not ended up with connecting rooms and even in those we were next door to each other. They're pretty good about getting you together!

I didn't see you mention when you are thinking of taking your trip, but just thought that I would add this...You can get a AAA discount for the ASMu suites. I have 14 nights reserved at ASMu suites for the first two weeks of October(we'll actually only stay for 7 nights, so I will cancel 7 of the nights once the kids' school schedule is approved). We used the AAA discount, so our average per night is $208, INCLUDING all the crazy taxes. I believe our actual rate is about $179 a night, but again, it ends up more when all of the resort taxes are added on. I don't think this is bad at all. We have stayed twice at POFQ with two connecting rooms, so we are actually used to paying a lot more than this. We are very excited about ASMu Suites! The included refrigerator and microwave are sort of a big deal to us because we eat all of our breakfasts in our room and keep water bottles, juice boxes, etc. in our fridge.
