Do you have to eat dinner at Chef Mickey's in order to get the photo everyone takes before they call your table? You know the one, where you stand behind the "chef Mickey" platform and the big plate is the backdrop. We have a pic from every year, same positions showing our growth (and age, yikes!) year to year, but we'd pass on the buffet this year if we could.

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes you have to eat there. BUT if you explained to the photo crew there what you want they might be willing to let you slip in and take a photo with your own camera. It's at least worth asking if nothing else. Who knows they might even let you use your photopass card but I can't say for sure. Good luck!

Since my family and I always stay at the Contemporary what we did was go to the plate in the afternoon when Chef Mickey's was closed and took our own pictures there. Plus we weren't the only people who have done that, so maybe if your visiting the Contemporary during the afternoon that's something you should consider doing.

At other places, we received a folder with an 8x10 of us and the background on on side, and an 8x10 photo of the characters/cast members onthe other side, plus some smaller 4x6 or 5x7 photos.

Is it the same at Chef Mickey's? --- the other photo is of all the characters together?

For example, at Donald's Safari breakfast, the other 8x10 was of all the characters there. At Hoop De Doo, it was the actors from the show.

Do they do the picture at dinner time as well as breakfast? We have eaten breakfast there a few time but this time we are having dinner there. I love the pictures.

We may go to The Wave that night - maybe they would work something out if we're still on property somewhere. Although, I didn't know we could just walk up off hours, that makes sense.

I thought it was a cute picture but for the price it was not worth it. You think they could be more reasonable on their picture prices. I would try to go in the afternoon when no one is there and get your own pictures. When we looked at ours last year it did not even come out good, at least if you take your own you can choose & not have to pay the price.

When we went to Chef Mickey's in 08, the picture came out great but at $35 there was no way I was going to pay that price  Due to a horrible experience with the food at Chef Mickey's, we will never go back again :sad1:
