Family of 5 in a value/moderate?

I have unfortunately been sick at a Deluxe and a Value and the room size really didn't matter. I doubt WDW uses HEPA or even high quality filters in their AC and the room AC just recirculates the rooms air, so really if someone is sick those germs are just being blown into every bit of the room(s) Plus, to me there was nothing worse then being laid up and knowing it's costing me a few hundred $$ a night more just to lay in bed. LOL
I have actually booked all stars music family suite precisely to give us room if someone gets sick but this is actually a very interesting point.

It 100% could be a personal thing, but in a value resort it feels like more than 2 adults is too tight. Again that's just my feelings and experiences. I wouldn't want that for a slower paced vacation. You might be able to do it in a 5 sleeper moderate but I will say it felt tight in a regular room with 3 adults and a teenager. And we were rope dropping to park close that trip!

Then again, maybe I have just become too bougie for my tastes lol

This is what my adult niece said. Three of us (me, her mom, and my niece) spent one night at the Music before moving to the Yacht Club. My niece said no way could we do more than one night with 3 of us. I'm all for longer trips, and I'm usually good at sharing space, but I think 5 would be way too tight.

Thank you all for your thoughts!! I think for now we are going to keep Beach Club for a shorter trip as a longer trip would mean more time at the resort/pool and some no-park days and I'm thinking convenience may beat the extra time this trip! I'm going to look at renting DVC points later in the month once we reach the 11 month booking windown and price out points for a studio villa.

Keep checking the Dolphin. It will give you the same great location, for a fraction of the cost of the Beach Club.

Having stayed at Beach Club and Poly with a family of 5…I would rent points and stay at Poly. The extra 1/2 bath allows extra space to get ready and storage if needed. Beach Club to me seemed no bigger than Caribbean Beach Resort.

I forget whether it was under the bed or under the dresser/credenza that there was a platform that prevented suitcases from being put out of the way underneath. This was All Star Sports in late 2022. I was told that some refurbishing had just been done.

Room refurbishments at All Star Sports didn’t even begin until mid-2022, chances are that report was from a room that was not yet refurbished. We stayed in a newly refinished room in summer 2023 and had no problem putting luggage under the bed.
