Family of 5, beach visit

Hello,

My family will be visiting Orlando from June17 - July 1 and we are planning on visiting the beach during this time. Last year we found we really enjoyed the Clearwater side, however we never stayed the night. I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for lodging. It doesn't necessarily need to be Clearwater...it could be St Pete, Madeira, etc... We'd prefer something on the beach for convenience with a little one (18 months).

We take our family to Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island. It's not far from Clearwater and the beach is great with little ones. Caladesi Island is never busy and you take a ferry over and back. I believe kids are free. The seashells are amazing and we have always been able to find a quiet spot to set up. The sand is white and the water is beautiful. On our last trip the dolphins were so close to shore and our kids loved them. We've never seen big waves at Caladesi and its perfect for little ones to splash around. A new Hampton Inn opened on the causeway in Dunedin and is a short 3 minute drive to the ferry or Honeymoon Island. When we stay in Clearwater we stay at the Springhill Suites or Hilton. Both are nice properties. Have a great trip.
