Has anyone done the Family Magic Tour at the Magic Kingdom with a 3 year old? I am very intrigued by this tour and can't wait to try it. I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. Just wondering if this will be too much for my little one. Any opinions? Thanks!

My little one loved it when she was 2. A word of advice - if your 3yo uses a stroller, bring it! We left ours at City Hall and I ended up carrying DD for 2 hours, much of it running to keep up with everyone else. The tour is 3 hours long and they move VERY quickly from one part of the park to another, crisscrossing all over the place. It's fast-paced, silly and lots of fun, but can be tiring.

My son HATED it when he was 3! The story was over his head, he didn't enjoy most of the games and it drove him NUTS to walk past all those rides! He whined and complained through much of it and became so disgusted by the whole thing he didn't even enjoy the things he normally would have loved. I think the Family Magic Tour is the only thing he EVER truly disliked at Disney World in three trips.

The rest of us (DD 5 at the time, DH and I) LOVED it!!! It was sooooo fun! The story was cute, the games were fun and DD got to sit next to Wendy at Mickey's Philharmagic. Our guide was great and Peter Pan was AMAZING!

We did the tour several days into our vacation after having spent tons of time at MK and that still didn't help DS's attitude. DH and I agreed that one of us should have taken him on rides while the other took DD on the tour, but we both enjoyed the tour so much we were glad we dragged him along and both got to experience it. I think he would have enjoyed it the following year when he was four. If you plan on going every year or two it might be worth waiting until next time.

I think it depends on the child, but 3 might be a little young. We did the tour when DD was 6 and DS was 4. They were the perfect age for it. They understood the plot and really enjoyed all of the fun and silly things we did while running all over MK. They are now 8 & 6 and they really want to do it again - but they'll have to wait until their little brother is old enough (he's only 14 mos, so it will be a while before we do it again).

It is a really fun experience and if you think your little one will enjoy the activities and not be upset walking past rides and characters, then go for it. Also, some people say to do it at the end of your trip so that your child will have already seen all of the MK. It might be easier to walk past rides if they've already done them. On our tour, my DS and another little girl were the youngest ones. They were both 4. I don't know if this is always the case, but the littler ones seemed to get some extra attention from the characters at the end of the tour as well.

My DS was just a few days shy of 4 when we took the tour in May, and he loved it!!! Our guide was really good to include him in the little things she asked the kids to do (read the clues, ds3 got to look in a bag of "magic dust", etc), and at the end of our tour, Peter Pan just seemed to love him!

It didn't bother our kids to go past the rides without riding, they were on a mission! That would definitely depend on the child, though.
