Our first family trip to disenyworld. Been in planing since April of last year. Been reading the boards and noticed that others had said that August was a bad time to go. We figured that June or July would be worse and we were doing the right thing by going in August hoping that some of the kids would be back in school by the time we went but now we are not sure. We need people to let us know if August is a bad time to go or not. Do not want our first trip to be so crowded that we cant do anything.

Just some info about our trip. We are going Aug 5 - 11 and have tickets to go for 7 days so we have plenty of time to get to all 4 parks but just not sure about the crowds. Someone please set my mind a ease. Thanks.

I actually went at about that same time in '05. We only went to Magic Kingdom for the day...
In my mind WDW is fun no matter when you go, but to be honest it was extremely hot:cool2: and maybe a bit more crowded then usual.
I am by no means Disney veteren, that was just my experience.
Hope you and your family have a great time!

I've never gone at this time but many people have over the years and have survived. Drink lots of water, rest in the afternoon, have swim time, get some ac when you can, pack rain ponchos. You're in a great place to read lots of information. ADRs can be made at 180 days. Have you made any yet? Make a few plans and relax, you're going to DISNEYWORLD.

This year will be our 4th trip going in August. Yes, at times it is extremely hot. There's the usual Florida afternoon shower that helps a bit. The crowds vary. Some years have been better than others. Last year it was very crowded because of the free Disney Dining. Hopefully this year, the crowds will be a bit lighter. Just take a lot of breaks and stay hydrated. Enjoy

thanks for the info guys, we really appreciate any help people will give us. with the heat issue, we do live in south texas, so we are really good about hydrating , i mean my dd8 is more likely to pick water than soda at a restaurant, and how often can you say that?
