Does anyone know of any nice, family friendly beaches in Pensacola? We'll be stopping there on our way home from DW this summer.

I'm guess you'll be driving on I-10 and that's why you're stopping? Pensacola beaches are a lot like all the other beaches in FL. Lots going on, a few bars nearby, kind of crowded. I wouldn't call Pensacola beaches family unfriendly, but if there are certain things you want to avoid, you can probably do that by going to a less crowded area, like Seaside or nearby areas. I like Destin, although that's gotten really crowded in the last few years. There are lots of nice areas to the west and east of Pensacola that are really very quiet and beautiful.

Well since I live here I can honestly say that P-Cola beach is very family friendly! The only time I do not go to the beach with my 4 children is during the Memorial day weekend. I think that we are still a very low key, relaxing enviroment. I hope you decide to come and visit and see for yourself.

Sorry if I implied that Pensacola was not good. I am only familiar with Perdido Beach (grandmother lived on the Intercoastal Waterway) and Johnsons Beach. For the past few years we have gone to Orange Beach. OP good luck!!

Pensacola Beach is great. I would avoid it on Memorial Day Weekend too. It is way to crowded then. But they are beautiful white sand beaches. We live here and rarely go. We really should go more often.

Destin is also nice. It can get crowded during the summer, but we have very few bars (just mostly restraurants) so we don't get the crazies that some beaches do. Northwest florida is very family friendly. :)
