Our road trip has many stops, including....Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Vegas, Sedona, St Louis. We have 5 kids. We like going out to eat and most of us eat a wide variety of things. We're not into fancy, but we like good food. I'm particularly interested in eating at regional places with regional food. I'd also be interested in anyplace that might be fun or have a fun atmosphere, good view, etc. I just want to be sure we don't fall into eating at national chains because I want the kids to experience more local places/things.

If it helps...kids are 14, 13, 11, 4 and 4.

Any suggestions?

Thanks...
Jess

There are few in vegas, There is the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur, Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood. Serendipitys. Excalibur has a buffet which is 24.99 pp for a 24 hour period. Hope this helps a little.

Around Yellowstone. In Bozeman MT-Mackenzie River Pizza. Gardiner, MT-Town Cafe(any meal) Dubios, WY-Cowboy Cafe( Breakfast or lunch) or Sundance Cafe(lunch or dinner) Jackson, Wy-Billy's Brugers in the Cadillac Bar(can order of Billy's9 "simple food" or Cadillac menu"fancy food") or Mountain High Pizza Pie(white pizza or whole wheat crust with pesto) or Bubbas Merry Piglets Mexican or Snake River Brewery or Signal Mountain Trapper Grill Nachos, this is in GTNP.

When traveling around the West coast we happened upon Black Bear Diner. It was wonderful comfort food and we now seek them out when we are traveling. I always look for an In N Out too. I love their burgers but the rest of the family does not. They look for a Chik Fil A :rotfl:

Alpine Inn at Hill City is awesome.

I read about the Alpine Inn here on the Dis boards when planning our trip last year & we tried it. Loved it so much we ate there 2 nights in a row while in the Mt. Rushmore area.

There are only 2 item on the menu. The large or small steak. Served w/ a wedge salad, bread & baked potato. We loved it!

And the dessert menu...wow!! We tried a different dessert each on both nights & they were awesome!!
