Well, a miracle happened and we snagged a Family Cabana within a week of our sail date (on Magic)! I have read a lot of the posts in this forum, but haven’t seen much from recent visitors to CC.

We are sooo excited and I would love advice, tips, observations, even complaints from anybody who cares to share but I do have a few specific questions:

1. Can I get a chuka (the coconut salted caramel drink) delivered to the Cabana?
2. Does the cabana have a power outlet?
3. I saw a video suggesting there’s a radio in the cabana—is it preset stations or can you hook up your phone/iPad?
4. I understand you cannot get lunch delivered, assuming true, can you bring lunch back from Cookies two (or the BBQ at Serenity Bay)?
5. Can you order from Olaf’s smoothie hut?
6. Which bars can you order from?
7. How much do you tip the attendant?
8. Anything and everything I’m not thinking of?

Thank you!

Congratulations! It is so fun to have a cabana! You will love it!
I will try and answer some of your questions-
1. I am not certain what this drink is, but if they make it on the island, a server will bring it to you.
2. I do not remember seeing a power outlet. They do have power as they have a small refrigerator. But I don't remember an outlet, most likely safety reasons due to water etc.
3. There is music piped into the cabana-you can ask for it to be turned down or off, but you can not play your own music through their speaker.
4.You may bring your lunch back from Cookies and eat in your cabana-our favorite thing to do. Watch out for the gulls. Keep your food covered and return your tray to Cookies with uneaten food or you will find the gulls in your cabana eating what you did not!
5. Not sure if you can order from there, but it is right outside the cabana area. Just walk down, grab your smoothie and walk it back.
6. Servers bring you your drink. There are only two bars. Not sure. We usually take a walk at some point, sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders. They are fun!
7. I don't remember an exact amount, we tip generously though. Especially if they are delivering our drink down the beach to our chair.
8. Anything and everything-Grab your snorkel equipment before you head to your cabana-just easier and you are ready to go. It is the concierge team that prepares your cabana. You may want to consider a tip to them if you are not already sailing concierge.

So glad you were able to snag a Cabana, you will absolutely enjoy it!

To add on to the previous answer:
1....
2. To confirm, no there is no power outlet.
3. There are several presets you can choose from on the radio, as well as adjusting volume. For example, stations included the music found in Senses Spa or playlist with Island-like music (think Cheeseburger in Paradise).
4. Once you finish eating, you can ring the call button and the crew will come and collect your trays and dirty dishes, so you are not ambushed by the birds! This is actually their preference as the birds have been an issue of late. During lunch time they have plenty of crew members walking the Cabanas area to collect trays for this purpose.

- In addition to snorkeling, you get free bike rentals when you have a Cabana. Just walk up to the bike rental kiosk over by the Serenity Bay Tram Stop and show them your Cabana wristband.
- You DO NOT need to grab towels from the boat or from the crew handing them out right as you get off. The Cabana comes fully stocked with towels so that is one less thing you have to carry across the island and once you are done with them just leave the towels in the cabana.
- Check-in for the Cabanas is right next to the Serenity Bay tram stop
- The family cabanas come with a fridge stocked with canned sodas and waters, a bowl of fresh fruit, there is sunscreen, towels, and chips/granola bars as well as a small safe in the closet to lock any valuables (although we have never felt inclined to use this)

I've always had trouble getting alcoholic drinks in a Cabana. Never had anyone come when ringing the bell. Never had a server come to the Cabana. I had to run out onto the beach to order a drink. I've had a Cabana both as a concierge guest and a regular guest. Both experiences were the same. I felt the service was below standards for Disney, let alone a Cabana.

I agree and it's the reason we stopped booking cabanas. We received, basically, zero service and there isn't even a bathroom in the cabana - when considering the pricing is on par with the cost of a night at a WDW deluxe resort, I just don't see any value in it.

We've had great service in the cabanas both times we got one and are looking forward to our next time in a couple of weeks. This will be our first time as concierge, so the service was just good because of the attendants. We do start ordering as soon as we get there, so they are constantly coming by to check on us. We've been in both the family cabanas and serenity beach ones.

I also agree about the outlets; I found a pic of the last cabana we had and there were 2 outlets. One was by the front door, and one on the wall opposite the fridge.

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you so much everyone!

If it makes a difference the Chuka is a non-alcoholic blended drink—like an upgraded virgin piña colada, but it is sold at at least two bars (the one in Serenity Bay and one of the ones by the family beach). Was just trying to figure out if they only bring drinks from certain bars or only alcohol, etc.

Thank you for the detailed information. Keeping food covered to avoid a flock of seagulls is important information! My husband and son are fishing in the AM, so we will probably have to hang out with the bartenders on our next visit when we are not trying to maximize our cabana time. :)

Thank you very much! I’ve heard elsewhere that if you wait until after 12:30 to go to cookies too, the line isn’t as crazy, so the snacks are helpful for tiding over my kids—I’ve spent too many CC days in line for 20m+ for lunch!

Also excited to not race 1/2 way across the island with 6 towels trying to get a prime beach chair. I also like that we can rent a bike nearby and take it over to Serenity Bay, if we decide we want to check out the restaurant there.

Thanks for sharing your experience, even though I’ll be disappointed if that happens, knowing it’s a possibility will help me keep up a good attitude even if we have to go forage for food ourselves.

Extremely helpful, thank you! Though I’m starting to wonder if they vary from cabana to cabana. Will try to report back on the outlets in our cabana when we return.

We just had #10 the week of the 19th of Aug.
1. - I believe you can order whatever you want but the servers coming by are hit and miss. You will need to use the call button. As we were advised by the person who met us at the cabana, order early if you know you want a drink.
2 - I don’t recall any power outlets but didn’t have a need for one So didn’t look.
3 - We didn’t notice the radio/volume control until later in the day when we were looking to turn down the music. I know we turned down the volume but didn’t notice channels as my DH found it, I never touched it. Just so you know, it was Inside a wall on the outside of cabinet/shelving behind the entry door, There is a plastic hard casing over it.
4. You can not get lunch delivered UNLESS you have an allergy specific menu which they only Serve at Cookies 1 (the main one). They will pick your food up and deliver your special diet prepared food to you. Yes, you can bring your food back to the cabana. Please know they, they will tell you to keep it covered or rid of it quickly as the birds will be all over it. You can indeed use the call button and they can send someone to retrieve your used things. We had someone come by once.
5 - You can order from anywhere you want but I’m uncertain if the bar team/servers will include that. It’s not a far walk at all. You can always just ask.
6. - I dont know that it matters the “bar”. It’s not like they have a lot on CC. It’s more about telling them what drink you want as there are no bar menus To view.
7. There are a variety of attendants. We didn’t have just 1. You have the golf cart drivers, the bar server (their tips are auto included in drinks remember and taxes are higher on CC than on the boat. 10% I believe I was told vs 8% on the boat). You have your head person who gives you the overview when you arrive at the cabana (Saw her maybe one other time). Then there’s the one who came around to pick up any dishes. If you need more water or soda, use the call button and they will deliver more.
8. * Please know that the beach right by the water was very slanted. Literally almost had to crawl up the lounger. LOL. We ended up moving our loungers up towards the cabana in the shade where the ground was level.
* Chairs/loungers are NOT allowed in the waters (other people were warned of this).
* The Water was VERY shallow which is great if you have small children. The sand under the water was very slimy/slippery.
* The view was blocked by the high rock wall so no ocean view unless you look to the left towards the boat.
* They provide 2 sunscreens - 1 sports and 1 for children. Large bottles.
* Fridge is stocked with canned Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Zero Sprite, Water.
* They will bring you a fruit basket with strawberries, grapes, plum and other items.
* the included snacks were 3 bags of chips you can get at Cookies, 2 Nature Valley granola bars and 1 other brand of a granola type bar.
* To get your snorkel equipment, you have to go to the check out stand not too far from the cabanas. You take your equipment back to the cabana when not in use and leave it there. They take care of it for you at the end of the day. They will also drive you back to the cabana if needed as carrying all equipment can be heavy (this was suggested by our greeter though we carried ours).
* The cabana check in is at Pelicans Point. When you get off, go to the right and it’s at the end.
* We didn’t do bikes (it was HOT) but of course that’s included. All you need to do is show your bands for bikes or snorkel.
* There is one bathroom just past Cabana….hmm….13 Or 14 I think? It’s for private use for those renting cabanas. They look like the other bathrooms, so nothing special, just more private.
* As you walk down the paved pathway the golf cart uses, there is a swing fence entrance to the “public” portion of the beach that connects.

Like yourself, we got lucky in snagging one. Now that we’ve done it, I don’t know that we’ll do it again unless we try it at the new island. I was disappointed in the view for one. Looking out was only that large wall. We found ourselves going more to other areas of the island which would have made use of the beach lounger areas over there more useful to be honest. The bottom of the beach felt gross and it was very rocky. I didn’t expect that. Had to wear water shoes in the water. We found ourselves missing the other areas of the island. Did I mention it’s very shallow? But you do have the floats to drift around on. Also, there is a lifeguard in that area as well if you have younger kids.

I did like that we could put our stuff down and not worry about anyone bothering anything (yes, we’ve had this happen where we came back and had squatters had taken over our chairs when there were PLENTY of open ones around - so odd to say the least). The shade was nice as it was hot.

For us, we’ve learned (now that we’ve tried it), we’re fine using that money on other things and doing as we always have, just snagging chairs at the beach. We have an area of the beach we enjoy that is centered around food, gift shop, etc. so will likely keep that area in our sights moving forward.

Am I glad we’ve experienced it? Sure. Do I feel the need to do it again? No. Regrets? No. It’s almost like an experience that once you’ve tried it, you’re good. Hope that makes sense. You know what they say about grass is greener.

Again, if I had very small children; especially napping age…this is likely ideal. Gives you The ability to keep them out of the sun, areas to sleep and rest. Our teen actually did get a nap on the couch so yeah…it was handy.

Hope that helps. I feel I’ve covered a lot for you. Have a great day and I just hope it doesn’t rain on you. Enjoy and safe travels.

One more thing….editing to add there was a small sand pail with small shovels.

Thank you! Honestly that’s how I’m hoping we feel because it will save us a lot of money on future cruises. We are several cabanas towards the left, really hoping our view is more horizon than rock wall.

@HyperspaceMountainPilot just wondering if you are in a standard cabana or the family cabana? In the first post you state you have one of the family cabana's. There is a oversized family cabana (Cabana 21) that fits more than the others and is essentially double the others on the family beach area. If you are referring to that one they layout is slightly different, most of the services will be the same experience, Since it is at the end and larger there are some physical differences.

You’re right—completely my mistake— I meant family as in “not Serenity bay”— we are in a normal family beach cabana.

Well there is always the ocean. :rotfl2::rotfl:

I guess it really depends on the day for service. We had a cabana last December and had drinks quickly delivered to us twice in the day with no problems at all . As for the bathrooms; We had cabana three so it was a very short walk to the restrooms.

Hopefully my experience is the same for me this December on the Wish. I was able to secure cabana #8.

We love cabana #3 for convience. We have not had 8, but 9-right next door. View of ship is amazing-you will love it!

No worries, not a mistake really. I was just clarifying since there are many people that read the treads and may not understand. We have been in cabana 21 and the "standard" size cabanas. The grand family cabana, for anyone that might be wondering, is really just double/mirror of the standard cabana on the layout. There are two mini-fridges, two closest, etc. The furniture layout is a little different mainly because of the dining table. Below is a quick pic looking across 21, behind you (out of view) is the second closet, counter and mini-fridge.

Glad you got a cabana, such a nice way to relax!

Enjoy the trip.
