Last year for Christmas we started a tradition of giving awards out to each member of the family. Since Christmas is held at our house, our family is responsible for making them all. All of the awards last year started with "most likely to...", like "most likely to break out in song" or "most likely to give you a compliment", etc. Everyone loved them and they were a huge hit, so this year everyone has high expectations ;) We were thinking of doing "Best _____ " because we couldn't think of any other different approaches, but if you have any ideas, I'd really appreciate them. Otherwise, any ideas for categories? Here are some possible ones we have so far:

Best Smile
Best Hugger
Best Enthusiasm
Best Style
Best Hair
Best Sense of Humor
Best Storyteller
Best Attendance

I don't have any ideas but I think it's an awesome idea. :thumbsup2

Do the winners get a prize or certificate or something?

Thanks, I print out certificates for each person with their award, name, and picture on it.

Hmmm...

Best Cook
Best Driver (or Backseat Driver)
Best Laugh
Best Dressed
Best Listener
Best at (game you all like to play)
Best Gift Wrapper
Best Decorator

Best Pout (to go with Best Smile)
Best Cook/Baker
Best in a Crisis
Best Goofy Voice
Best Artist

Hehe, that's cute. My senior year, we did something similar for our professors at our end of year banquet, we actually made a whole powerpoint presentation, played music that suited the award, etc. We had our own awards show, it was a huge hit.

You could go for Best Cook, Best Handwriting, Best Driver, Best Luggage Packer, Best Athlete, Best Singer, Best Video Game Champion, really, the possibilities are endless. I think it might be easier to go based on what the members of the family are good at, and make that their "Best" instead of trying to get your family members to fit into your categories, KWIM?

Who came the farthest?
Mr/Mrs Christmas King and Queen
Youngest
Oldest
Favorite Christmas sweater
Most likely to drop/spill something

"Best" works if nobody in your group is sensitive, if nobody will get offended that the 'judges' disagree with their own personal assessment of themselves being the best in the category.

How about "Outstanding"?

Thanks for all the ideas! We finally have one for everyone. We also decided to find a song that relates to each category to play as the person comes up to get their award. Some of them are a bit of a stretch, but it should be lots of fun :goodvibes
