Hello all! We are making a short day trip to Disney this Saturday for some good meals and resort touring, Downtown Disney, etc. (no parks this time). My son will probably need a nap at some point but I'm not sure where he can get one in unless maybe we bring his stroller and he falls asleep in the stroller while we go hang out "somewhere". Has anyone ever encountered this situation and might you have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance. :)

We have always gone back to the room for naps. My kids couldn't fall asleep in their strollers with all the excitement going on around them, especially at 3. We're leaving on Saturday, and my almost 4 YO still takes a nap most days. We'll leave the parks around 1PM or so to go back to the hotel for some down time and naps. It's always worked best for us to remove them to sleep.

Well I guess one day won't hurt him if he doesn't get a nap. He can always (and probably will) fall asleep in the car on the way back to Flagler Beach.

I think you may have to just let him be. The only problem I forsee is him getting VERY cranky when he hits the wall. As you said, he may fall asleep in the car. We always tried to have some lullaby tapes or CDs as my kids DO NOT like to sleep in the car. Keep him fed and let him run around as much as you can (as you already know :flower: ).

Good luck. My DS was about 3 1/2 when he could start to miss the occasional nap and not be rotten. Now at 4 1/2 he sleeps probably 2 or 3 days a week, but has quiet time in his room everyday.

Have fun

Thanks for the reply :) I may sound like a terrible parent but if he doesn't get a nap (and we feed him an early dinner) maybe he will fall asleep in the stroller for our 5:00 p.m. dinner seating at 'Ohana and we can have a semi leisurely meal. (You parents with young kids know what I'm talking about ;) )

:rotfl2: no! I don't! I wish I did. My kids NEVER slept if there was the least bit of stimulation within three miles of them!! And I don't think you're a bad parent. I still dream of a semi leisurely meal.

My DS was about that age when we began to test him at amusement parks last year. He was a trooper! Oh, and try to make sure he's really well rested the night before. I bet he'll do great for you!

Have a great time!!
