It can be budget, or really great tasting, or easy making.

I would like
Apple dumpling
Apple crisp
Pumpkin cookies with raisin

Or a favorite
One thing I don't have is a lot of time.

For pumpkin cookies.. Use a box of spice cake mix and add a 15oz can of pumpkin. I add chocolate chips, but you could throw in raisins. 350 for 13 minutes or so. They are really good.

With the above recipe - 1 box of cake mix, 1 can of pumpkin - I've made muffins, donuts, cakes, cupcakes. Basically that recipe can be made into anything (though I've never tried cookies). It also works with regular cake mix (though I'd add some cinnamon) and even brownie mix!

Pioneer Woman has an apple dumpling recipe, slice an apple, wrap it in a crescent roll - fill a 13x9 pan with them, then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top and pour over a can of Mt. Dew then bake. I'd google the recipe and not go by my directions as I think butter was involved somehow, too.

I do this but make a cake. Just sub some of the liquid with pumpkin. Follow the rest of the instructions I also add a package of Jello pumpkin spice pudding. Cream cheese frosting...

I am making a variation of this. It is in the oven now. I guess we will see how it tastes. I like the way it is making the house smell though. :thumbsup2

Crisp~

4 cups of sliced fruit
cinnamon (I just shake it on but the recipe calls for 1 tsp)
2/3 cup brown sugar

mix these together and add to your baking dish

1 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter

mix these together until crumbly, put on top of fruit mixture, bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.
This recipe can be used with all kinds of fruit, apples, pears (we have a pear tree, I slice the pears, add cinnamon and brown sugar and freeze them until I need them, I currently have 7 bags of pears in the freezer and 6 of peaches because DBF's parents have numerous peach trees on their property), peaches, apricots, use the same recipe, just switch out the fruit.

Take crescent rolls and cut them in half before you roll them up. Put pie filling on the dough and then roll up the roll. Roll the whole thing in cinnimon and sugar and bake per directions on the crescent roll packaging. These things are declicious, cheap and easy!

My sister gave me a recipe for the best apple crisp recipe, but I will have to dig it out when I am home and post later. In the meatime, this is one of my favorite fall apple recipes:

Fried Apples

8 medium Granny Smith apples, sliced (peeled or unpeeled)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation:
Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sauté 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are tender. Serves 6.

These apples are so flexible. They are great served as a side dish with ham, pork or chicken. Good for dessert plain or over vanilla or cinnamon ice cream. Also good for breakfast plain or as a topping for oatmeal, pancakes or french toast. They are great cold or warmed up!
