Fall FP+ availability is awful!

Haven't read the whole thread, but I arrive 10/10, and had no trouble getting 7DMT for 5 of our days. Could have had A&E several days in, but we met them last year, so we don't need to do it again. Lol!

Too funny! We arrive the same day. 10/10 through 10/19, and doing the 10/13 mnsshp.

And we had the same experience. Midnight on our fp+ date, got eberything we wanted the whole trip, when we wanted it. That oncludes 7dmt on the 11th, and a&e on the 17 th.

We have the same dates as well, 10-18 and had really great results when booking. Got 7dmt, a&e, wishes all at preferred times on the 14th. Got every fastpass on each date we wanted for the time slot we wanted I think having multiple computers going at the same time helped ;)

I think it's about to get even worse, I just got a killer discount in the mail for early october that is almost can't pass up. Running numbers really quick, it makes the room at a moderate for 6 nights practically free. It's a room/ticket combo. We're not going to jump on it since we're switching to AP next week when we arrive but it's really tempting as we do love halloween and the price is killer.

I'm surpried they are offering any pin codes right now. The GP discounts were pretty limited and there doesn't seem to be much availability for anything (even with rack rates) when I look at the website.

So it's VERY BUSY at MK tonight. We used the App smartly and watched Jungle Cruise go from 75 to 20 before the Elec Parade and got on it at night (a bit better at night.) Saw Splash at VERY long lines but got on right during Elec and only had less than 10 (basically walk thru the cue.) Space was high waits all night but FPs are easy to get for it, and we had it. Kicker was we didn't have an FP for 7D, but we did not need one. We watched Wishes right by the entrance and popped in line as the Finale went off. The official cue said 80 but no one was lined up outside, so we knew it wasn't even close. We cued and rode in under 30 min despite the line eventually cueing up behind us and it updating to 50 and then 40 min. If was very easy to tour tonight, very laid back. Just watched the app for what we didn't have FPs for and used Elec and Wishes to our advantage. We still got to see fireworks (I like Fantasyland best myself) and got all the big headliners. And we did it all after dinner and didn't even wait more than 20 (Jungle) or 30 (7D) for anything. FPs are good but if you don't get everything, you can still work the crowds and lines just fine..just keep your phone charged and update it often, use Wishes or closing for 7D..its a way better night time ride and a much shorter line than RD. We didn't have to bring out the elbows once.

Now, for this ferry line.....

You can do that if the park is open late and you don't want to see MSEP/Wishes. However, in October the park closes early 4 nights a week for parties. And people who don't come to WDW may not want to miss the parade.

Ive seen posts where people did a "trial run" of booking FP prior to their actual date - is this still possible? I've never used the system before and just want to familiarize myself with the process before next week when it's time. I've tried going through MDE but it's got me locked out until my 60 days. Is there a workaround I'm just not finding?

thanks :)

If you aren't staying onsite or your park tix aren't linked to your room res, and you have park tix linked to your mde account you can make FP's for any day in the upcoming 30 day window. Just remember to cancel them!!

@Tarheel girl 1975 Fireworks are practically sacred to me. I NEVER Miss Wishes. We watched it from Fantasyland and then got in line as it ended for 7D, which was much shorter than RD. We happened to hop on Splash as an after thought and could see Elec from there. But I still think monitoring the wait time on the apps is the smart way to go. We also only were there after 7pm and we did Buzz (FP), Space (FP, long lines), Monsters, Thunder (FP but died down to 20), Splash (SB 10 min), Wishes, 7D, and parts of CTM. We left by 10:40 (which proved to be the worst mistake because the ferry lines and traffic/construction.) If we can see everything we want to see in 3.5 hrs with only 3 FPs, I'm just saying there are possibilities.

I guess number one, don't try to have the do everything perfectly day. You may need to hop back later to catch a ride or a parade, and then switch next time. Basically there really isn't a way to see everything that there is to see in one day and sometimes not even one trip. Do what you can, plan what you can, and then enjoy it. Knowing that you will be back for anything that got missed, rained out, broke down, long lines etc....

Just wanted to share, the guest passes CMs can use to bring guests into the MK are blocked out the entire month of October this year. The only other time of year this occurs is July and August. So, for our purposes, October is the new July :scared: (except with better weather!)

WELP. This looks like it might be my last October visit.

Just did my FP+ at midnight for 3 people from 10/20 - 10/30. Except for Anna/Elsa, had no problem getting any FPs I wanted at any of the parks. This included plenty of times showing for 7DMT on the dates early into my vacation. Maybe this is a sign things are clearing out into the last two weeks of October?

Thanks for that tip.

Sorry for the confusion ... actually A&E was showing good availability by 10/26 with spotty times on 10/25. But all other rides like 7DMT and Toy Story were showing plenty of availability even on our 1st day of 10/20.

If you're targeting A&E towards the end of the trip I'd think you should be OK

I am going with a group of 4 from Oct 17-24th. My 60 days out was Tuesday morning. I was able to book everything I wanted for the 4 of us and most all of them are morning times. I got SDMT for both days we are planning to be at MK. I got Soaring and Test Track for the 2 days we will be Epcot. I have been reading websites and heard the horror stories about bookings, so I was anxiety ridden right up until I did it. It went much easier than I expected. I had a harder time with the dining reservations. I am wondering if the time you book them has any effect. I book mine right after the clock turned midnight.

This was my experience as well ...

Glad to see things are a bit more available. Our window opens at midnight tonight and I've been stressing about trying to get all of these FPs for a group of 6 people. I have zero desire to see A&E so that seems to relieve most of the issue right there. 7DMT is the main one we're looking for at MK. We also have MNSSHP tickets, but they don't seem to be linked to our reservation? So I had thought about getting FPs for things like Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain on that night. We went during this exact time 4 years ago and it was fairly easy to ride SP and a few other rides during MNSSHP. Of course that year I ended up in the Princess line from you know where and spent 3 hours of our night there and missed the parade and show. We refer to that as the princess halloween incident that shall not be named. Needless to say we won't be in any princess line this time. Our main questions are which tier 1 ride to book and then hit the other one as soon as we get there.

For us I haven't seen any great deals going on like in previous years? Free dining isn't even going on during our week, of course. They did finally release a small room discount for the times we will be there. So either that means they already have a lot of bookings or maybe we'll have the park to ourselves? haha.

We are going 10/16-10/24 and got everything we wanted!! Keep checking back and hopefully you will snag the ones your looking for too!!

I was also able to book everything I wanted and at the times I wanted without issue. Logged on right at midnight. They still had availability for 7DMT and A&E on 10/26. I didn't book A&E but out of curiosity took a look and there were times from 3pm up until 8pm that day. Hopefully for those who weren't able or had trouble more spots will open for you.

I guess you know this by now but in case you weren't up at midnight, there are no tiered FP+ at MK and FP+ isn't offered on rides during MNSSHP.

With limited availability of fastpasses and ADRs in the middle of October, I am scared that it might be very crowded. My husband's theory is that mostly Disney "professionals" go in October, so everything good is snatched up ASAP.

I am a little concerned too, not sure what the exact reason or theory would be, but I find it really strange that there is not only limited FPs, but limited ADRs for places and not for extremely popular restaurants too. I have been looking for a Mama Melrose ADR for our DHS night on 10/18 and can not find availability for the life of me, the only availability I can find there is for lunch, but we are already having lunch at Sci Fi (I couldn't even try to change that to a dinner either so I can book the MM lunch). I guess too many people want to eat dinner at a TS restaurant in that park.

I made my FP+ arrangements this morning. I only had trouble getting MSEP for 10/24, and had to split us to overlapping individual times for 7DMT for the time I wanted on 10/23 (there was plenty of availability in the afternoon/evening, but I want AM).

No need for A&E, but I did see it was available on all my MK days. The only other 'hard' FP I booked was TSMM, and had no issue with that either.

Question about booking FP+, for the experts since this is new since my last trip.

When our window opens at midnight (in a few weeks), would it be wise to have DH and I working at separate computers to book? Maybe put him on the "easy" days and me on the A&E hunt? Or both of us hunting for A&E and 7dmt then focusing on the other stuff? Or does having two people logged in for the same reservation break things?

I'm trying for any advantage I can get since A&E and 7dmt are on the top of our lists (just like a million other people!)
