So, while all of you are busy worrying about getting your reservations in for the September Pin Event, I want you to remember that there are no restrictions on the number of people who can come to the October Pin Event which is being planned by the CT Contingent for October 19th-20th. We have reserved a suite at the Residence Inn in Southington, CT, which is located at exit 31 off of I84. We'll start things off at noon on Saturday and trade for 24 hours.

So please, clear you calendars and plan to come see the beautiful leaves our New England falls are famous for.

If you have any questions, please email me: Rogers_MichaelCynthia@msn.com

Hey Cynthia

Sounds like fun. Maybe I will be energetic and make some COOKIES!!!!! Is Nat going? :smooth:

CPA Cookies!! Oh goodie.

I sure hope Nat gets off work that weekend, or at least comes down after work on Saturday. We had a good time meeting you at his house last weekend. Remember that the CT Contingent also meets on the second Saturday of every month at West Farms Mall. You are welcome to come to one of our monthly meets in addition to our big Fall Foliage one.

Cynthia

Hi Randy and Carol.... Welcome to the DIS!!! I will be there either during the day or after work... This meet sounds like it can't be missed...:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

You can find information and links on the CT Fall Foliage Meet here - <a href="http://www.pinclubs.com/ctdpt/">CTDPT Web Site</a>

The site also includes information on all upcoming pin meets for the rest of 2002.

Our cookies are sure to come.

HMMMM cookie for a pin.

I think I am going to need a lot of cookies for this meet.:p :p :p ;)

In case you haven't heard...the CTDPT - Connecticut Disney Pin Traders are putting together a very fun event.

It should be called a Pin-A-Thon. There will be 24 straight hours of pin trading starting around noon on Saturday, Oct 19th.

It is being held at a Residence Inn in Southington, CT. I just booked my reservation and got some good info from the front desk.

The Residence Inn has 94 "suites" in total and approximately 20 of them are Studios with one queen size bed and a Jacuizzi. Guess what I booked??? :) The rate was $129.00 for the night, which is a little steep, but Catherine won't be able to go, so I thought this could be a nice romantic night away from home. Missy, myself and 50 other pin traders. :lol

Mario aka Buzz 2001 just sent me the following in an email.

<Mario's email>

We (the CT contingent) visited the Residence Inn on Sunday. It is very nice. Like I stated earlier it is brand new so when you first walk in you get that "like new" smell from everything.

Once inside, there is a large breakfast area on the left with a fireplace, couches, TV and about 25 tables of 4. This is where they serve there continental breakfast from 7:00a to
10:00am so on Sunday morning, the only people that can officically be in there are guests staying at the Inn otherwise we can use that area all night long.

We are also getting the Connecticut Room for trading and activities such as pin bingo as well. This room probably holds a good 50 people depending how the tables are arranged. It is right next to the breakfast area. Cynthia is getting a suite for late night trading. The jacuzzi rooms are nice as well. We toured the whole place. They were all really nice
there. I don't think there are many of the jacuzzi rooms so book early if you definitely want one. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. Tables out on the patio with a BBQ grill for those that want to trade outside if it is a nice fall evening. All of these areas are within 50 ft of each other.
Nice setup.

<end of email>

There is additional contact information on the Pin Clubs home page.

Hope to see you all there,

Jeff

Is anyone going to stay at the hotel, or are you just going to either go home for a bit to sleep, or stay up all night drinking 17 cups of coffee??

Wow! Randy & Carol will be there cool! Sharon too!

Missy and I have already reserved a room at the Residence Inn.

We can't wait to meet all you folks

Jeff

Sharon even though I live less than 15 minutes from the hotel I am currently booking a room. Wouldn't want to miss TOO much of the action. :D

We are obviously going to spend the night since we are about two hours away. :):):):):)

Did I forget to mention that CPA COOKIES will be there.:p :p :p

Thank you to everyone who has signed up. If you will be attending the pin meet please take a minute to go to our web page and fill out the sign up form.

This will help us in planning activities. It will also help Cynthia to know who has hotel ressies. She is trying to get all of our rooms blocked in the same part of the hotel.

Mario,

Just an FYI...

I have been in touch with the founder of the CJDPT - Central Jersey Disney Pin Traders - John Rick. We have another pin meet this Saturday afternoon.

I told him about the Oct event and he said that he was going to try to get a room at the Residence Inn. I am hopeful that both he and his wife Sheila can make it. I will point him in the direction of the registration form.

Side note: Our plans to go to DL from Oct 11 - 14 are set, so Missy and myself will be packed full of California pins when we get to Connecticut.

Can't wait to meet you all,

Jeff

Great! Are you going to the Haunted Mansion event?? Isn't it around that time frame?

Unfortunately, I will miss it.

The Microsoft conference starts on the 7th and runs through 11th.

My family is flying out on the 11th and we will spend 5 days in DL staying at the Disney Grand Californian.

Back just in time for the October event.

It is going to be a great couple of weeks!!

Jeff

Going to Marriott's Web Site, JudySue and I were able to get an AAA Member Rate of $98 per night for both Friday and Saturday.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Mario,

I just got an email from John Rick (founder of the CJDPT). He and his wife Sheila have made reservations at the Residence Inn.

It would be kind of fun if we took over the whole Inn. :)
