You can do some research on renters insurance before coming down, but I would recommend getting it after you arrive (since you won't have pertinent information like your actual residence until check-in). The Price Management front desks and Disney Housing Operations all have information on various providers of insurance.

I know State Farm was offering something like 7K of coverage for $5 a month- to give you some reference point. That covered any type of "act of god" (flood, fire, etc.), theft and most other incidents that could happen.

When I was on my cp I lived on the bottom floor in Chatham and hurricane Wilma hit while I was there, luckily we didn't get flooded but we did have to get all of our belongings off the floor in case it did flood. Yeah, there's a locker in the closets for each person in the apartment. You can fit most things of modest size in there (laptops included). I always had a secure feeling in my apartment and left stuff out most of the time, but you've always got to be aware of your surroundings- I know some people had stuff stolen out of their apartments. Always, always check to make sure the door is locked behind you!

I agree with csaribay- you must always make sure you door is locked! My roommates and I would always lock our main door but the patio door would stay unlocked as long as someone was in the apartment. I was on the first floor and that is where most stuff gets stolen from (though my apartment never got anything stolen from it). Other people I knew were on the first floor and had stuff stolen so just make sure when you first get there to talk to your roommates about locking the doors and everything should be okay.

ooooh but I just had my interview! I'm super excited! I think I did well. I wanna do a dance and wiggle. HAHA can't wait !! 2-3 weeks and I'll know!!! I think I'm going to end up in merchandise or recreation. She had alot of questions about what I would do in certain situations if I was one of those roles.

Well, I actually am doing the Summer Alumni program (which would be my 4th), not the regular Fall program. But I am still waiting to hear from Disney. I mailed my stuff in 20 days ago (the 17th). So I hope to hear soon.

Omgosh! I am sooooo excited because I finally got the "go" from my school to do the college program! I am applying tomorrow then scheduling my interview!

I am auditioning for entertainment, so is it good to go ahead and apply and interview? Also, I will be auditioning in Oklahoma City (I go to Oklahoma City University). I'm so excited!

I applied for the program and I have an interview tomorrow morning, but didn't talk to my university. I was going to wait until after I was through the application process... was that a bad idea? I know students from my university have done the program before, so I hope I don't have any problems.

If students from your university have done the program before then you shouldn't have any problems. But if you're going to take some collegiate courses and want credit for those, then you should prolly get approved for them before you leave. My department chair is helping me fill out petitions for the credit for the classes.

I don't think it should would make a difference if you spoke to someone at your university either beofre or after your acceptance/application to the program. Just as long as you speak to someone about it before this semester ends. lol

i finally recieved an email saying "thanks for interviewing" 2 WEEKS LATER lol. They are obviously very behind in the CP department. It was nice hearing from them though and getting a recruiters info is also good so now I can bother her all the time

I just had my interview this morning! I think it went really nice, the interviewer was so nice! She was laughing with me (hopefully) so that has to be a good sign. I've decided I'm going to audtition to be a Character, and I'm doing that in Pittsburgh, PA. Anyone else?? How long until they post the schedule, anyone know?
