Fall Date Suggestions

Just want to go when it's cooler, less crowded, NO CONVENTIONS, and all are back to school for the most part. We are extremely flexible, AP Sig, home school so can go mid week.
What dates would you recommend?

First week of November would be good on the cooler, low crowds, everyone in school. I can't speak to the conventions parts of it -- there will always be some group in town.

Downside is probably missing both the Halloween stuff and most of the Christmas as it goes up slowly.

The week before Thanksgiving (this year Nov 13-17) is supposed to have fairly low crowds and you could catch some of the holiday decorations.

I agree with PHXscuba, I don't actually think there are any times when there aren't conventions...it's just a matter of how big are the conventions. You can see what's happening at the Anaheim Convention Center on their website (http://www.anaheim.net/1871/Calendar-of-Events). The convention facilities at the DLR hotels don't list their conventions, but there whenever I've been there, something is always happening (from weddings to reunions to conventions).

I don't really think there are any days left when Disneyland is empty. I wouldn't go at any point expecting attractions to be walk-on (except maybe right at rope drop and even then that can vary). Weather is highly variable, but probably later in the year has a better chance of being cooler. I would look to go after October in that case...as others have said, early November is probably your best bet...after HalloweenTime ends, but before the Holiday season officially gets started. Just note that November 4-5 is Fall Dapper Days (Sat-Sun), so avoid that weekend. We also don't know if there will be any ticket offers that will impacts crowds this fall (so I would keep an eye out for those).

Not really low time. That's when the Halloween parties start. We went third week in September last year and it was 100 degrees every day and very very busy!

The key is the last week in September, avoiding any weekend days...The whole month of October is busy. Other than that the second week in November but weather may not be as nice.
We homeschooled 16 years..have been to WDW/DL select times..the best ever to enjoy the warmth of CA sun/pool but fewer crowds is Mon-Thurs...choose the last week because many school fall breaks start in October. Our other best times were the 2nd week in January or last week of April...but our best ever times were that last week in September.

Just a heads up, we are following my husband to a conference which is at the Disney Hotel the week of 9/23 so there's definitely a conference going on. No idea how it's size compares to other conferences. Plus it's probably a Mickey Halloween week which is annoying because buying a ticket doesn't get us a whole day and night at the park. We'd have to buy the separate ticket for night or go to DCA at night. I love the holidays at the park but I'm annoyed about the inconvenience of the Halloween party.

Isitpacked.com says you'd be better off going earlier in the month.
