Fall Break

We didn't have fall break where I grew up, but my kids do here, so of course we booked a trip to DL for that week, 10/15-10/19. Does anyone else's kids have fall break? Is it more common in the west? Is there a particular week that is any more crowded than the others?

Utah has a long weekend for fall break October 18&19. It is traditionally when the state education association has their convention so we call it UEA (Utah Education Association). There has been a long running joke that UEA actually stands for Utahns Entering Anaheim.

Last year, we were in the park the weekend before our fall break which was the end of Arizona's break and it seemed crowded to me. Or at least more crowded than we expected for October.

It seems like a lot of the districts out this way are doing the week of Oct 9. We have gone a couple times during fall break and it was not that crowded.

That's the most common week. DLR gets moderate crowds because of it.

We'll be there from the 14th-18th. We are going with my sister's family who's Fall Break is the weekend after ours. Her district's break is the 18th and 19th; whereas, our district is the 11th,12th, and 15th. Same state, different break. We just opted to go during the days in between.

There are 11 of us in our party, so there will be that many people, at the very least in the parks. Can't wait!

I grew up in Utah, and before it was UEA it was the opening of the deer hunting season . We got 2 days off for that. Maybe that's why it's more common in the West. Maybe they were all originally for hunting and then changed their name to Fall break for ....ummmm.... politically correct reasons

A big chunk of Arizona has that week off and many do go to DLR. We always run into people we know. It is better on weekdays no matter what week you go.

We are off the week before and will be at Disneyland. When we went 2 years ago there were several other schools there that were off for break also.

We're in Utah and our kids get Oct. 11, 12 and 15 off - but my sister, who's also in Utah, gets Oct. 18 and 19th off. Our fall breaks usually coincide, so I don't know why they don't this year.

We are going Oct. 8-11 and going home on the 12th. So we catch Columbus Day (Canadian Thanksgiving Day) and the first part of our Fall break.
