I don't know if the bread pudding was still there or not. Maybe it was, and I just didn't have any, but that doesn't sound like me, lol. Have you ever eaten at Tusker House, their breakfast is similar to Boma's, and they have an amazing bread pudding.

I can't imagine fruitcake with gelatin, that doesn't sound very good to me. When I make fruitcake, I always use dired apples, raisins, candied fruit, and lots of rum and bourbon.

Austrian style fruitcake: Sponge-cake, with a layer of jam, fresh fruit (can be berries, but anything soft), topped with a layer of flavoured gelatin. :thumbsup2
Sorry, I forgot that fruitcake here is different to fruitcake somewhere else! :goodvibes

I always find it interesting how stuff with the same name is different country to country.

Found a photo of a strawberry cake:

And that looks exactly like jello with fruit in it! I however, would probably not eat that. If I wanted strawberry and cake, I'd get myself a nice shortcake, but I don't think I could stand all that jello cake.

That's what my aunt from Britain sends me for Christmas - has lots of "hard" icing on it! :rotfl2: ........... No, I would NOT like that with all that yello on it! ;)

I make a similar cake like the one with the strawberries, but since I don't like the thick yello layer I just brush the fruit with it, to keep them fresh. It is really nice! ;)
I don't put icing on my fruit cake at all, I keep it wrapped in alcohol soaked cloth, which keeps it nice and moist. The cake you make with strawberries sounds good, almost like a fruit tart glaze.

After spending all day at a water park I didn't feel like going to a signature restaurant for dinner, so I cancelled my ADR for Narcoossees, (or it might have been Citricos, I was supposed to eat at both this trip, and never did, oh well,) and headed to Epcot instead. I intended on getting a counter service meal somewhere, but on a whim decided to see if I could get seated at Via Napoli, the new pizzaria in Italy. I had a reservation there later in the trip, but with all the meals I was cancelling, I didn't want to risk not trying this when I had an oppurtunity to eat there that night.

I was in luck. The restaurant was not crowded at all, and I was able to be seated within a few minutes. I was seated in a very large table in the middle of the dining room. I didn't like it. At the begining of the meal it was fine, but then as more and more people were seated I felt crowded, and it was kind of weird eating in front of the couple that got seated across from me, who weren't very sociable at all, I said hello, and the man just looked at me. Also, I think it's odd that the drink stations are in the middle of the dining room as well, I've never seen that in a restaurant before. The dining room itself was very open and bright, but the seating arrangment made for an uncomfortable meal.

Of course, I had to try the pizza, that was the whole point of eating here.

This was the ortolano pizza, otherwise known as vegetable pizza. The crust was good, nice and crispy on the outside. The sauce was tasty, very fresh tasting, and the cheese was really good too, not the typical American shredded stuff that pizza is usually topped with, but nice big blobs of fresh mozzarella. The vegetables, which were onions, zuchinni, and peppers, were all well cooked. If I had one complaint about this pizza, it would be that about half of it was very skimpy on the cheese, and it was very messy to eat, but it's pizza, what do you expect?

Overall, I think this is a great addition to Disney, since they really needed a good pizza place. I would like to return someday and try some of their other selections, the pasta dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen all looked good, but it's not a must do for me.

And another great review! :thumbsup2

Tom and I were talking about the seating situation on the long table in the middle of the room and we were worried if this was a good idea as most Americans don't like being seated with strangers. (Quite common here in Europe)

I am glad you liked the pizza - it is very close to the real Italian pizza. :) Our biggest concern were the "metal" plates. Not only were they scratched but our pizzas got cold very fast.

Boy that Pizza looks good :cloud9:

We are certainly going to try Via Napoli on our next trip. Do they have any two tops?

Yes, Linda, they do have two tops! I guess the long table in the middle is for solo diners and for people without reservations once they are fully booked.
The food is real good and very close to real Italian food!

Sorry for taking over your thread! :goodvibes

That is one overly saucy pizza! I can see it being messy to eat!

I didn't notice the pans making the pizza cold any faster, but I eat cold pizza a lot at home, so I probably wouldn't of noticed either way.

I actually wouldn't of minded being seated with others, as I'm quite sociable, especially since I find conversations with strangers quite easy in Disney, as it's easy to ask them about their trips. But the couple near me, well at least the lady said hello back. But it's something I'd always worried about when thinking about booking a meal at Teppanyaki or Beirgarten, which happen to be the only two TS restaurants, not only at Epcot, but at any of the parks, that I have yet to dine at.

Yes, there were lots of tables around.

Great reviews so far!!! So glad I discovered them. :goodvibes
Thank you!

Luckily, the sauce was yummy!

I was trying to figure out the purpose of the table, and figured it probably had to do with either me being solo or not having an ADR, or course even with an ADR I probably would've ended up seated there anyway being solo. Hopefully if I eat there again, I'll have more sociable tablemates.

I spent the rest of the night at Epcot. Around closing I found myself if Future World, and at the Land. Even though I had eaten dinner, I was kind of hungry. I guess that's probably because I hadn't really eaten anything else that day before the pizza besides a few doughnuts, so the pizza seemed more like lunch to me, and I had eaten early, around 4:00, so now I wanted "dinner." That is more my eating schedule at home though, lunch mid to late afternoon, dinner late at night. So I stopped at Sunshine Seasons for a meal.

The first thing I noticed was that the menu had changed, had it not, I probably would've gotten my personal favorite, the roasted beet and goat cheese salad, but I wanted to try the new option, the seread tuna with Asian noodles.

Last year, this had been a salad, I had really liked the tuna, but thought the salad was bland due to lack of dressing. So, theoritically, the tuna, being prepared the same way, should've been good, wasn't really the case. I had gotten a couple end pieces, and they were covered in cartiledge or something. Cold fish is not very pleasant chewy. The noodles were cooked fine, but they had something on them that left a very spicy aftertaste in my mouth.

I hate to do it, since I thought this looked really good on the menu, but this only gets an;

Also, I know there was some big discussion on the menu at Sunshine Seasons before I left, and I would just like to say that the only other change I noticed, besides the tuna, was that the salmon has now been replaced by a sustainable fish-of-the-day choice.

For dessert I had a favorite, the strawberry shortcake;

Or at least it had been a favorite on my last trip. I had remembered it being very creamy with lots of strawberries. I found it very bland this time, not sweet at all except for the glaze it's drizzled with, and very few strawberries, it only gets an;

So Sunshine Seasons was dissapointing. I'll still go back there, since four out of the five meals I've had there have been fine to really good, but this was just a sore dissapointment.

Nooo! The salmon at Sunshine Seasons is my absolute favorite CS! That is terrible that it's been replaced! Sorry your tuna wasn't fabulous-- it really looks visually good!

:thumbsup2thanks for all the great info!

I'm subbing!

Can't wait to hear more before I make all my ressies!
