Hi all! DH & I are hoping to go back for our 10th anniversary next fall. We used to be really good at planning trips at the quiet times. This seems to have changed in recent years. Our last trip with friends, we chose the first week of October since it was value season. It was MUCH more crowded than DH & I have been used to in the past! :crowded:

Our 10th anniversary is in mid-November 2007. When would you all suggest we go? We'd prefer less crowds and good weather. But we'd also like to go during the F&W Fest and get good pricing on our vacation. Each disney trip is special but as this is our 10th anniversary we'd like to make the trip EXTRA special (without spending a fortune to do so!) :worried:

We're thinking of spending the majority of the week at POR (our favorite of all our trips) but hopefully if we have the extra money we'd like to stay at POLY at the end of the week and just enjoy the hotel itself and decompress a bit before going home to the real world. We also have 3 park hoppers each left from previous trips.

HELP!!! :listen: I'd love to hear your advice on making this trip great without breaking the bank!! Thanks!

The smallest crowds will be in September, and the last two years (2005 and 2006) WDW has offered free dining from mid-August through the end of September.

We may change our plans if there's a dining package offered again. But doesnt the dining package bring more crowds? And we'd have to book an actual package? We usually book room only reservations and were planning on doing so again to use up the extra hopper passes we have... :confused3

Dining package does not significantly increase crowds, September is the least crowded time at WDW. It does make it harder to get ADRs at restaurants though.

But if you don't want to book a package then never mind!

The free dining (assuming that they do this again next year), might make it worthwhile just to continue holding onto those park hoppers. For what you could save by needing pretty much no food budget would help cover costs for needing to get a package. And for an anniversary trip, free dining would be great in that you could choose the finest restaurants on property and not feel guilty about how much you're spending. I've been holding onto extra park hoppers for a few years as well. With the way they've changed their ticket pricing it's so expensive if you just want to add 1 or 2 days to existing park hoppers. I think it's worth it just to hold on to them for now in case they eventually go back to their old pricing ways. We arrived the second to last week of September last year, and were there to catch the beginning of F&W as well as MNSSHP. We enjoyed it so much we're doing the same timeframe again this year. I don't think the free dining added much to the crowds at all, other than in the restaurants themselves.
