Fake Pins at Disney Character Warehouse?

Some of you may not have heard of them, but there are Disney Character Warehouses that go around all over the country selling Disney park merchandise that is typically heavily discounted.

Anyway, I was looking at some of the pins there that were ok. Most of them were from Disneyland as was a lot of the stuff there, I am assuming this is because most people from Oregon go to DL more than WDW.

But, upon further examining the pins I noticed they had brush marks on the glossy top covering (idk what it's called) and they didn't look to be of the best quality.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening? It's not like the pins were cheap compared to full price. They were btwn $5-7 for the normal pins that are $7-9 in the parks.

The AMS Character Warehouse has had a major contract with Disney for years to buy surplus merchandise from them, primarily from the Disneyland Resort. I do not think that they would hazard their business and even existence by selling countefeits.

I live in so cal and we have some permanent stores. I know they are getting the stuff from parks and they are real. I am almost 100% sure they are. I dont see why they would risk their contract with Disney to sell some fake pins.

We have a temp. AMS warehouse near us right now and we go to the one in Anaheim regularly, I've never purchased a fake pin from AMS. I can't imagine they would chance that at all.

I was just wondering, the pins do have significant brush marks on them. I wondering if perhaps the company that runs it sneeks in some fake stuff. I did see some hats there today that were just plain unmarked hats that weren't Disney branded.

Oh well, no big deal. The pins weren't interesting enough to purchase and neither were the plain hats. I just hope when I finally get to go to the 3 outlets in Orlando this September, the pins won't look so shady.
