Has anyone had fake eyelashes put on for their wedding? I see that Ana from Beaute Speciale only charges $10 for them (that's who I'm using for makeup) and I was wondering if it was worth the money. Do you notice a big difference? I've never had them on before. Are they hard to get off?

I've worn fake eyelashes before but I don't do it regularly. I do plan on wearing them for my wedding and I plan on putting them on myself. :scared1: I'm normally a simple makeup kinda gal, very natural. But for my wedding i'm doing a very vintage golden age of hollywood look. Fake eyelashes def. make a difference, espcially if your lashes are light (like mine) or thin.

UGH! i HATE fake eyelashes, i had to wear them all the time when i was a ballet dancer and i can never seem to get all the glue off and my eyes are always stuck shut! so in response to your question, i will NOT be wearing them. i do however, think that the mini eyelashes, those little whisker type ones that you strategically place, are ok, this is because you dont' have to use a ton of glue.

I didn't wear them for my wedding but I have had Lavish Lashes done and they are awesome. They are individual strands attached to your own lashes and it's time consuming and expensive but the look is great. I wouldn't trust someone I don't know with doing them because they do work with tweezers right by your eyes and it takes a while to get used to. My eyes water quite a bit when I have them done.

Did you get them done in Orlando? I would love to get lash extensions for my wedding, but I don't know a reputable place.

I didn't have them done in Orlando, I had my esthetician here at home do them. Here is the site for lavish lashes. http://www.lavishlashes.com/index2.html

The first time I had them done they fell off in days, the glue lost some of it's power so they were redone for free. I wore them on a cruise last February and they held up great considering how much I was in the water. They should last about 3 weeks before you have a touch up is needed. You don't wear mascara except for your bottom lashes and use a special make up remover on your eyes so not to damage the glue.

They are expensive, around $250 - $300 for the initial session which should include a touch up and the make up remover and it takes about 2 hours to have them done. To expensive for me to continue to wear them but they are great for special occasions.

I'm kind of pale and my lashes are already a bit long, so I'm not sure if fake lashes would look right on me. I do have some, though, so maybe I'll try them out on my boyfriend this weekend and see what he thinks.

I love the look of them. I plan to wear them for our vow renewal. I am a big fan of dramatic eyes. My sister is doing my makeup, we're going to start trying out some different makeups soon to see what we like and how it holds up. Right now I use Bare Minerals on a daily basis and I love it. I've had no problems with it during the long, hot, Louisiana summer. But I want to try the MAC makeup.

Lashes are a definate yes. I have a pair that have an "eyeliner" glitter band. Those may be my VR lashes. A little bit of sparkle for the princess on her special day!princess:

Thanks Caryn :grouphug: for that tip. I love to hear testimonials from actual people who have used the products. The prices run similar to the Bare Minerals, so I will try it. I'm all about color, so that's good to hear!

I'm so relieved to hear you say that - was it easy for her to do - did you ever feel as though she would poke you in the eye? I don't want a bloodshot eye on my wedding day :(

I wore them....fake hair fake lashes hahahaa

They were not ridicluous!

I love that pic! It looks so natural. It makes me want to get fake lashes for the wedding! I'm also thinking about extensions.

Yes girls....the secret is out! That was a ponytail and it was fake, I just wadded it up in a bun, it was so easy, I put my own hair in a ponytail, clipped the fake pony over mine, pinned it up and viola! Thanks for the compliments

here is a pic of the back

Here's a good one of me getting ready! You can see the lashes and the hair

While fake eyelashes can be a pain if they aren't put on professionally, they really do make all the difference. As long as they aren't crazy long they look great and really gorgeous. I would reccomend it especially if you're getting them put on professionally. Good luck!
