Everyone,
I am trying a understanding of when was the last time someone spoke to anyone at fairytaleweddings.com. I have called them 3 time over the past 2 weeks and wrote 2 emails. I am unsure if they are overwhelming with requests or rarely check emails or voicemails. I was hoping to start the process in trying to figure out our invitations and maybe other items they provide.

The first time I e-mailed them, I got a reply from Shelley that same day.....the second time, it took about 5 days....I e-mailed for prices on Feb. 22nd and still haven't heard from her! I have called several times but haven't gotten an answer and I haven't bothered to leave a voice mail. Her e-mail address is an AOL address (which I also have) so I checked the status of my e-mail and it said it hasn't been read yet. I am just assuming that she doesn't check her mail too often!!!
Fortunately, I've got plenty of time (November) - but I was hoping to get the prices for my invitations and programs before I start "buying" other stuff!!!!
:confused3 I doubt this helps, but at least I know I'm not alone!!!!
Good Luck!

When I checked on the Mickey programs they were $9 each. The fans. So I modified them and made them myself. Shelly is very sweet. I just didn't like how long it took to get back on things.

Whoa! $9 each? You might have made that decision for me! :sad1: I really wanted those fans since we're having an outdoor ceremony and they were so darn cute! I didn't even want to use programs - just the fans! I've seen you're previous posts/pics, so I know you're probably far more crafty than I am ;) , but how are you doing them yourself??? I'd be happy w/ a mickey head on a stick!!!! I just don't think I can cut up 50-60 by myself!
Shelley seems nice in the e-mails, but I'm glad I'm not rushing to get invitations!!!!

I have to make almost 70 at this point. I just traced a Mickey head, cut and pasted the wording i wanted. Used transparent tape and covered all edges. Then made lots of copies on card stock. Then used sticks I got a a hobby store. Some ladies have made square program fans. They were really nice too. Then use a ribbon that matches your colors.

I cant seem to be able to find anything on that website.. It shows other websites for what you are looking for.. I like a website where they have all the info there...

If you call she will send you a package of samples. Or email you prices of what you are looking for. I think she does that because alot of items are specialty made.

did you go to the right site? it is www.fairytalewedding.com

If you type fairytaleweddings with an "s" you get that site with links...(I did that many times...lol)

I used her for my invites and the prices quickly went way over what was estimated- lots of fees and handling charges we were not told about. However, we were in a time crunch and could not go to another vendor after waiting too longto receive our proposal. We also were going to do the Mickey fans and were told they would be around $3.50 each for 100. However, with labor, assembly fees, and so many other added costs I can't remember they quickly were over $7.50 without a bow! I cannot recommend this vendor as we had lots of problems with our invitations we bought (she was never available to talk to, thinsg came in wrong, things were ordered without our ok, etc.). Our EM even had to get involved! I feel if you are spending that kind of money you should get what you pay for!

I was originally going to go with this vendor and my quote ended up so high i went somewhere else!

I originally wanted to get some programs - she sent me a bunch of samples and the one i liked was $12 each. I thought i was only getting 30 so it didnt matter, Then all the additional costs starting to appear- that price didnt include labour, assembly the ribbons etc It ended up at nearly $20 per program!!!

In the end i just used publisher to create my own design, then got a friend who works in a printers to print them on high quality card and got some gold ribbons from a craft store and made them myself! It ended up costing less that $2 per invitation and everyone loved them!

I am kinda thinking of using this lady for my invitations. I really love the hidden mickey invites. I am just wondering did anyone have a good experience with her? It is just the only thing that I have heard is that they are really expensive (which she may not control), there are hidden charges (which she should tell you up front), they tend to mess up, and they are rather slow. Is it really worth the $$$ to have these invites, if the service is not so good? :confused3

If you are going with any of the regular Carlton Craft Disney wedding invites, I would definitely recommend shoping around, as her prices were definitely more expensive than better service we got thru another vendor for the same product at a lower price.

If you want the custom/hidden Mickey invites, I believe that this is the only vendor that can do those. In that event, I would reccommend ordering them WELL in advance, calling to make sure that the order got to the printer/is moving along in a timely fashion, and checking them as soon as you get them. (My cousin had some problems with this vendor too, knowing what we do now, we will not be using her serivces, but having done these suggestions would probably have helped.)

In my opinion its not worth it at all, save yourself the head ache

This kind of sums up our experience as well....
all i can say is

I had a good experience with her. There were a couple of times when I had to re-send an e-mail to her b/c I didn't get a response. I think she might not have gotten the e-mail, so if you don't hear from her in a few days or a week, try to contact her again. Shelley was VERY nice and super helpful. When I was debating the custom invites or the carlson craft, she priced everything out for me. The invites arrived with a wording mistake, so she reordered the invites. We hired her to assemble, stamp, and send the invites, so that was an extra cost, but it wasn't hidden, she told us how much it would be and we decided to do it to save us the time/energy/headache. She gave me the name of the font used on our invites, and I was able to find the file through my vast resources ;) so I was able to use the same font from our invites on everything DIY - programs, table names, place cards, favors, thank you cards...

I did call/e-mail her once a day for about a week before we sent out the invites. I did speak or hear back from her every day.

Due to the invite mix-up, we did get our invites out 1 week after our projected date, I think, but it wasn't a problem. We had an RSVP date of August 15 for our September 23 wedding. None of this waiting until the last minute RSVP's (like some people-aka myself-have been known to do). I think that by the time people received our invites, they had 4 weeks to respond, plenty of time, seeing as how most of them had received Disney's save the dates a couple of months earlier (those went out late too, but due to other reasons)...plus, family had known that this was coming up and had been planning for it.

Anyway, I second DVCgirl49's recommendation to order EARLY. If you're not crunched for time, you should have no problems at all...

good luck! :thumbsup2

p.s. Please keep in mind the 35% Disney licensing fee for anything custom (those hidden mickey invites), it's steep! (and why we didn't go with those) If that changes your mind at all...
