Haven't been here for ages and ages, so hello again :goodvibes

I just thought I would let anyone who has been hanging on for the magic 1.60 rate (as I have) FairFX have updated their exchange rate to just over this afternoon. I transferred $ into my Citibank account (better rate doing it like this than sterling straight into Citibank) at 1.6024.

I noticed this as well - transferring £330 tomorrow morning.:cool1:

If you are doing it via Fair FX, on their site there is something called 'FairPay' which is a way of buying $ via direct transfer into your bank account. It's self explanatory when you go through the process, although you will need a Citibank statement handy or you will have to call them as you need the IBAN reference of the account. I'm not sure if it is the same number for all dollar accounts, if so, I can let you have it if you have any trouble.

Once you set the account on Fair FX, it's there for the next time you want to transfer.

I'm not sure what happened with Citibank, you used to get pretty much the bank rate at the time of transfer, now it is a good 3 - 4 cents lower. The Fair FX rate is not massively higher, but I am sadly obsessed with getting the very best rate I can, even when it means .25 of a cent! Sad, I know.

Thank you so much for this! And, no your not sad, I'm the same, lol! I will go how ever far if there's a gain to be made :thumbsup2 I thought I was going mad as everyone was saying how close to the interbank rate citibank was-and I too was seeing a lower rate than i was expecting.
