Fairfield timeshare vs. DVC. Difference?????

Arminnie, that's what happened with us. We sold our Marriott week, our 2 South Africa weeks and our DVC points but bought more Fairfield. It just works so well for how our family vacations with a price that we can easily afford. So we'll likely just stay with Fairfield now. However, the DVC & Marriott resorts are really terrific.

Dean and Werner know a lot about Marriott. They could comment on pricing and trading.

My experience was limited to owning an offseason week at a Marriott that's no longer a Marriott (!), which we used for internal weekly trading via II. It worked pretty well for that but the maint fees were a little higher than we wanted to pay for a trading week that could not be broken into lockoffs nor short stays. So we sold it.

We prefer points for varying the length of stay, season and size of unit. For the right family (who love upscale resorts in the Marriott locations for full weekly stays), Marriott is an exceptional timeshare company, IMHO.
