I am looking for info about this timeshare. A friend of mine has Fairfield points and is thinking of this resort in early Dec. Has anyone stayed here? How for is it to the parks? How long is the drive time? Thanks for the information!

Disneycrazymom,

My DS and I stayed in a 1 bedroom lock-off last summer and were not happy at all. We could hear and smell everything from next door. The resort is very close to 192 and there are some great restaurants nearby.

See if Fairfield Cypress Palms is available. We've stayed there several times and it is fantastic. But if you must stay at Star Island, make sure the unit is a dedicated one, not a lock-off.

ramwdwfan, Thanks for the quick reply. The one bedroom lockoff is often pretty small. We just had a 2 bedroom last weekend at Lake of the Ozarks, and commented on how we would not be happy in the lock off part alone. I'll check into the Palms. Do you remember how long it took to get to the parks?

Getting back and forth to the parks was a breeze. I would say the longest time it took to get to any park was about 20 minutes. That was first thing in the morning traveling with other early risers and people going to work. But generally, it would take about 10-15 minutes to get where we were going. Universal took a good 30 minutes.

My problem with this resort is that it appears to require a Saturday arrival. Other timeshares that rent their villas, VV, VR, etc. are more flexible.

Hay RAMWDWFAN,

Are you a fan of our beloved, yet to reach their true potential STL Rams ? It was another tough day today. Curt Warner is having a very bad season, but most of us here in STL are not giving up! At this point there is no where to go but up! At least the Red birds are ready for the post season. :) Thanks for the info on the Star Island. She was able to get a check in date in the middle of the week. :)
